Remove ALL media from the machine DVD, CD, USB, etc. Check/reseat all Monitor cables. Reboot. If that fails, unplug , plug back in in 30 seconds or so. reboot, if you get a Dell Logo, Open the boot Menu and select Boot from HDD first.

Dimension 4700 how do I fully restore computer to original setup

To restore your dell pc you put in the restore disk that came with the pc and reboot the pc. It will tell you to press any key to boot from the cd. After pushing any key it will begin to boot from the cd and reinstall windows just as it was from the factory. Depending on the operating system the restore cd will look something like this.

Dell 4700 desktop, will not boot up. Light remains

A solid Amber power LED is an indication of a motherboard problem. Remove any external connections and see if LED indications change. If no change, remove all PCI expansion cards, try again. If still no go, disconnect all drives, try again. If still no change, ensure the CPU heatsink is firmly attached (If loose you need to replace the retention module) If nothing loose and no changes from other steps, replace motherboard

If you have a Dell, then do this the next time.

As soon as you see your system creating problems again, turn to the back of the computer. There are 4 LED lights. See the status of those lights, I mean, green, orange etc. Check it on support.dell.com and see if you find something useful.

Beeps, wont boot up

Most of the time when it beeps, and there is nothing show on the computer screen, it is a RAM problem. A stick of ram may have gone bad. If you have two sticks of ram in the computer, you can try to remove one stick at a time to see which one might have gone bad.

No display and wont boot

A Blinking Amber or Yellow power button means that the power supply is receiving power from the source but is unable to properly distribute it to the components. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Power supply is easier and cheaper to replace.
