That would have been an expensive exercise. Try resetting the engine management electronics. Disconnect the cars battery completely with your headlights on. Leave the battery disconnected for at least 30 minutes. Leaving the headlights in the on position will kill any residual power left in the car. Obviously, the clock, the radio etc will also lose their settings. make sure you have the Radio pin code BEFORE you disconnect the battery as you will need it to restart the radio. reconnect the battery and try the car again. Resetting the electronics will put it back to factory setting. Hopefully , this will cure your problems. Ive done it a few times on my Ford and its worked fine. If not sure, try looking online for "resetting Ford ECM" there are many videos and info showing this and how to do it.
there could be a couple of reason why it wont accept the radio pin.
Its possible that the radio pin you have is the orginal and maybe at same stage there was a fault with orginal radio and it was replaced under warranty the code wasn't updated .
Other is the bcm has been changed the codes hasn't been updated .
The radio/ cd unit, for your model Jeep, has a built in security code. When disconnecting the the battery it activates the security. The reason for this is to discourage someone stealing the radio, as it renders the unit useless. To re-activate the unit you will have to enter a pin number, which should be supplied with the vehicle when bought from the dealership ( check in your operating manual). If you don't have the pin number, contact your Jeep dealer, who can supply the required pin code. Usually the dealer will re-activate your radio/cd unit free of charge.
The radio is probably locked out due to the antitheft system. It needs to have the security code (PIN) entered to get it working again. If you do not know the PIN. you will have to take the car to the dealer to get them to unlock it for you.
The headlight bulb is inserted from behind, in the engine compartment. And there is no reason to remove the battery. But you only have a few seconds before the radio will need a code in order to work again, depending on the brand. There is nothing else that needs a code.
the radio code is a 5 digit code and the navi is a 4 digit code. if it continues to read incorrect pin then you may need to see your local honda dealer to get the correct pin
Usually only the radio needs to be powered up...NOT the engine running . Be sure all accessories are off so as to not run battery down. You might try disconnecting battery again & hold positive connection to ground for 30 seconds .
