My panasonic televesion (CT-36HL43) will turn on shortly, with black screen, then click three or four times, then turn off, the red light flashes on & off.

It can happen due to overvoltage shutdown circuit. when voltage is too high, tv will shut down. it is possible that this specific model doesnt fit your local electricity network.

I have a ct-36hl43 thyat when turned on it tries to come on but shuts down and the red power keeps blinking and the only way to stop it from blinking is to pull the wall plug whats the problem??

If you can find the Horizontal output transistor make sure it is not shorted, this set had a issue of repeated shorting of that part after just a few minutes and the cure for that is well known.

To trouble shoot you will need a volt/ohm meter and how to use it, the set if shorted will not always blow the fuse but will go into shutdown to prevent further damage.

Let me know your skill level and if able to use a meter etc or not.

Panasonic ct-36hl43 tv

This is usually down to a safety feature cutting out the Television from harming itself. Or quite possibly a fault that make it turn itself off - it may well be thinking it's receiving the command to turn itself off. Either way, it's impossible to find out without opening it up. A professional repair is the only way, check up on your warranty. You may want to plug it into a different power source, just on the off-chance that it may solve your problem - but don't get your hopes up.

WON'T TURN ON

So your saying it blinks for six times then starts over? There is a problem in the system control or the main regulator circuit. Unless you know how to work on solid state printed circuit boards, you really should call out an Authorized Panasonic repair service center to assist you with this repair.
