I have just bought a Verbatim 4GB PinStripe USB Drive. My Windows 7 computer at home will not recognise it, and nor will most computers at work (Windows xP Professional). The shop replaceed it, but the problem persists.

Hello John,

The Store 'n' Go PinStripe USB Drive from Verbatim has a push and pull sliding feature which protects the USB connection when it is not in use without the need for a separate cap which is easily lost.

Purchase 5 new verbatim 4gb when i plug it into pc the system found new hardware and installed . then it allow me to used two of the drive. when i plug it in the pc a msg appear, u need to format the disk...

You have to format the drives. If you put data on the drives using computer 'a' whos OS is MacOS and then you put the same Drive into computer 'b' which has windows, it may not recognise the file system/structure.

I have a 4GB data traveller which is not recognised by any computer which I have tried i.e. XP & Windows 7. The error message is "USB device not recognised"

Your flash drive seem to be faulty, because you try it on more than one computer and you get the same problem, you should replace the flash drive.

Usb devise not recognised

You probably damaged the drive from sudden disconnection of the signal line. I would suggest trying it on one other computer before considering it trashed.

My ped drive kingston datatraveller 4gb doesnot work in win98

I think you will find that the card works fine but your computer doesnt recognise the card reader properly. Windows 98 does not properly recognise most usb devices but Windows 98SE does although I am not sure if it will recognise usb2 properly.

Verbatim 4gb flash cant be recognised

1. Download this tool:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4040651/LLFTOOL.EXE

2. Format

(WARNING: After running this low level format tool,
the whole USB flash disk surface will be fully erased.
Therefore, data restoration will be impossible after using this utility!)
