I need a replacement for this microwave - any suggestions

Magnetron needs replaced.

Cheaper to buy a new Microwave oven.

Two things could have happen to your machine.
One the magnetron is dead and needs replacement.
Second the high tension power which supplies power to the magnetron could have been screwed up and need to be replaced or repaired.
The fact that the fan is not running I suspect it may be a power board issue.

When you say stays on , is the magnetron still running ? The door switches need replacement or cleaning or timing went out.

If the microwave is making a humming sound, the diode is bad and needs to be replaced. If it sounds normal, but just not heating, then the magnetron is bad and needs to be replaced. If it is the magnetron, I suggest that you change the diode as well.

Look, i do not suggest you do it yourself as really, its lethal inside the covers, especially if you are not farmiliar with microwaves. What you need to replace to allow it to work 100% again, is to replace the magnatron and capacitor with the asspciated HVdiode.

You need to replace the magnatron and the HV diode. Replacing the capacitor is also an advantage.

There is a fuse inside the oven. The rating of the fuse may be 8amps. It is not suggested to run the oven without load inside.

You would be better off to replace the filter. Purchase two and use the first one to capture the remaining smoke residue. Then install the other clean one to keep microwave free of smell.
