The connector and motherboard usually have a RED color/wire for positive or be marked with a + sign. If you don't have the manual for the motherboard you can get one by going to the abit site, under support or download and entering your model number.

not wit this 1 but it dose have a triangle on the plug is that the positive?

  • Anonymous Aug 17, 2011

The triangle is actually an arrow which is the "key". It should show the notch which matches with the motherboard. It should be the only way it will fit into the motherboard comfortably.

You should get out the manual for the motherboard and the case...or look at the old motherboard and you can see what was positive on there maybe. If you don't have the manuals you should be able to find them online on the manufacturer's site under support/download if you want to be sure. (I could tell you if i was actually looking at it but as I can't you'll have to go by the explaination :) )

Whenever i connect my cam to my lappy it gets shut down,it was never happened before wen i was using my cam,but now it shows some message like " some serious problem occured with ur hardware usb...

As your message suggested, you have a hardware fault which means your camera is possibly faulty.
I would book it into a repair shop and get it fixed.
Hope that helps.

Hi, i have a 2001 hyundai tiburon. im hooking up a headunit (kd-r610) i think i hooked it up right and wen i go and turn it on, it turns on for a couple seconds then shuts off. any ideas?

does your car have steering wheel controls?...if so then you might have tapped into these wires where the go into the factory radio plug. either way put a volt guage on the power wire, and turn it on and then watch for a loss or drop in voltage, if there is then trace the wire down. check for splits etc...
if the power feeding the unit is fine then it may be inside the unit.

Hey i have this verbatim thing...i plugged it in but the lights just blink on and of...nice and slow like...also you kno that usb symbol with the green arrow shows up at the bottom right wen you plug in...

First thing you should know, hard drive is unbiased when it comes to OS.
Now there can be multiple problems in your case,
1. May be you don't have drivers installed in your windows PC.
2. May be your hardrive format is not compatible with the windows.
3. Or it may have internal hardware problem.

I need to know the sequence on how to connect my Power LED, Reset Switch, HDD LED, and M/B Switch up correctly. I have an MS-7142 VER:1 Can you help me?

Hi carlmtclem, your not alone when it comes to hooking up the right led connector to the MSI MB. Firstly, you need to know what wire color is positive & which is negative. Most commonly the color white is ground/negative. Wire colors do vary from case to case. So look at your case led wires. Which ever color is common for each 2-pin connector, is negative. (Except the speaker wire).
All other colors are positive.
(The speaker wire color for negative is usually black & red is positive).
Your MSI board has two separate sets of pins.
JFP2 is used for the speaker only. Do not connect the power led there.

Pin one for JFP1 is shown in the manual. Pin 1 is positive & pin 3 is negitive for the HDD-LED, ECT.

Thats it.

Post here.
Good luck carlmtclem!
Thank you for using fixya.
