Place a scanning side facing down on the platen glass.
Align a document with the arrow (the alignment mark), which is at the bottom right corner of the platen glass.
The Scan Photo/Document window will be displayed.
Look for the "scan" button on the printer. in most cases you press this to enter the mode and then press the start button. in some cases you can do this from the device software on your computer. if this doesnt help refer to your user manual

If you have refilled your cartridges, the printer now does not recognize them. So, you only need to have the printer turned on, then hold the "resume button" (circle in triangle) for about 10 seconds for each cartridge. Since you have 2 cartridges, you should hold the button twice, so you can reset your printer. Hope that helps!

hi, now i got a solution how to SCAN if your printer have E-5 error or something. First u must remove the both cartridge from your printer and make sure u connect your printer to your computer, after that, do this
With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.
When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
And then you will see no error in your printer (the LED shows number 1,and the alarm is in green)
NOW U CAN SCAN USING MP NAVIGATOR!
