We have a 56" RCS HDTV Projection Model #R56WH78 that is starting to have a weird 3D effect with rainbow halos around everything. Any idea what the problem is and how to correct it? Thank you!! ;O)

The tv have a problems known as a convergence pictures problems.Tv have any colors lines R,G,B mis alignments,have tv pictures colors shadows or tv pictures 3D look alike?Yes,this problems the tv convergence board it is dead to causes this problems.The tv convergence board must have it parts replaced like 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fixed the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence pictures problems.The tvs shops will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

Good Morning
your set does not have a bulb it has three CRT'S picture tubes . and if the set is not working its not likely that the crt's have all failed . you most likely have a circuit failure like a high voltage trippler block or some where else in the set . what are the symptoms at start up .

Convergence color has a rainbow effect

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, greenish, or blueish or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com

RCA HDTV floormodel, model # : HD52w59. The picture does not come in well at all, and the menu is distorted, it seems maybe there might be a bulb out in the left side but I am not sure, how would I fix...

The blue is not lined up with the rest of the picture

This is a common problem. Its called a convergence failure.

Problem #1) Convergence

Symptoms:

Screen Looks 3D
Colors wont align
Video may look distorted

Problem #2 CRT Fluid has clouded over. Symtoms

Dull looking video
White looking video
Halos around objects
Red/Orange looking video

Will not focus

This is a common problem. Its called a convergence failure.

Problem #1) Convergence

Symptoms:

Screen Looks 3D
Colors wont align
