Question about Palm Tungsten T5 - Multilingual Handheld
When mine did the same thing, I sent it in for professional repair and was taold that the motherboard was fried.

IF both resets won't help (p. 604 / 602 - on the user guide) , you will need a professional help with the repair. FYI A hard reset deletes all of the information on your handheld, including yourpassword. Applications, files, and folders on your handheld's internal drive are also deleted. You can restore the information by synchronizing your handheld with your computer. I wish i could help you more.

Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the jack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have to take the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto the motherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.
