I don't know how you can help me fix the problem of vibrating, that is why I asked. Can you tell me without me sending my camera out to Sony and not having one to use in the meantime. It seems to be a regular problem with ALL the Cybershots. If you know of a way I can do this I would appreciate any help

is there any way i can get help in stopping the vibrating of my SONY Cybershot,DSC-T-500 camera. The first expert said, "yes, add another style to the ones that are vibrating" after I added some other SONY cameras to my first request since SONY was fixing one of their cameras out of warranty with the identical problem.. Then I was asked if I could take the camera apart. I wrote "yes" and now am sitting at my computer and just want help if at all possible. Please someone help me now! Everytime I type in some info, your site brings up the page that asks me to pay, which I already did and to click on "Get solution". I just would appreciate some assistance in how to open the camera, as the first person asked me if I could, and want to move on to other things. Thank you for any help you can provide. A

i have unscrewed 7 screws, 4 from the sides, 3 from the bottom. The body can release, except for the top of the camera. Cannot figure out how to disconnect the top to open the camera fully

  • Anonymous Aug 16, 2011

I have removed 7 screws from the camera. There seems to be a problem in that the top part of the camera will not de-assemble. There is something holding it in placeand it will not separate. I see a tiny hole on top with a silver rod in it. No way to unscrew it, the top of the silver rod is plain. How can I open the camera up? Are you saying that I will have to use the camera without the stabilizer for telescopic photos, or this will fix it? What is a CCD? Thank you Arlene

  • Anonymous Aug 16, 2011

i cannot even deassemble the camera. If I cannot open the camera, which I believe I need to do, I cannot do anything you suggested. Is there another way to get into the camera, or can you tell me how to OPEN it up please

  • Anonymous Aug 16, 2011

are you saying it is just the two screws on the OUTSIDE of the bottom of the camera? Don't think that opens it up

  • Anonymous Aug 17, 2011

Thank you for trying. I was at my computer for more then 7 hours today with this site and then with SONY. I finally emailed SONY and they helped me fix the problem. If it is not corrected totally, which I will find out in the next week, I will try fixya again. Thanks anyway. Appreciate you trying. AG

I'm sorry that the Camera is vibrating. Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

  1. De-assemble the camera, you will see black plastic box inside, this is he lens unit.
  2. On the botom you see 2 screws which holds the CCD. Please remove them and the ccd unit will come from the lens assembly.
  3. The next is the stabilizer unit it is the problematic one. It is located on the left side of the lens assembly and is held by 2 screws. You can test it by puling out the cable connected to it (the conector is just under the lens) and verify that the problem is solved. ( you can leave it this way it will shoot fine just without the anti shake)
  4. To fix it take it out, remove the plastic cover, you see the lens on a plastic mount it should be glued to the magnet under it. The problem is that the glue falls apart. Please remove one of the pins on wich it slides, and take the lens and the magnet out.
  5. Reglue the magnet and reasemble the camera.
  6. Power up and test, for me that solved the problem.

This should resolve the issue. Thanks for understanding.
