HI, If the computer speakers are a good one, then there is no need for a receiver. But there is one thing is the computer speaker have built in Amplifer. If not, you will not get sound. Because the audio out of CDP is not powerfull to drive a speaker directly. If so You need an amplifier between CDP and speakers. Normally all computer speakers have stereo pins as input connector. To use this stereo connector with your CDP you need a "2 RCA Male to 3.5mm Stereo Female Audio Adapter Cable". That I hve added in the picture. By the use of such a cable you will be able to connect the computer speaker to the female stereo and the RCA pins to your CDP. There is no othere settings needed. If the computer speakers is good then it should produce music. If you need any more help fell free contact me through fixya or by mail at [email protected]
Since you have 2 receivers, you can either use the Sony STR-AV570X or the TA-AX380. You will need 3 Stereo RCA Cables to connect your CD Player, Tuner, and Tape Player. The speakers connect to the receiver you choose using the speaker input terminals.
Here is the diagram (click on picture to enlarge):
Since the receiver eventually works, the delay circuit is failing. This is a circuit that allows the power supply to settle down before kicking in the output relay. This prevents the "pop" that was sometimes heard on older units. This should be a simple and inexpensive repair probably requiring the replacement of a couple of small capacitors in that delay/protection circuit.
