To configure the calculator to do fractions, set the Input/Output mode to MathIO.
Press [SHIFT][MODE] to open (SetUp) then select [1:MathIO].
After you set it to MathIO, pressing the fraction key will display a fraction template where you can enter numerator and denominator as you would by hand (horizontal fraction bar). Also, the calculator will display results as fractions and radicals whenever possible.
To perform arithmetic operations on fractions use the regular operation keys (x, +, -, /). The calculator will perform the operations and display the results as fractions (whenever possible).

Is it possible to enter fractions in my new casio fx9750gii. ive tried the shift f-d key but it doesn't want to play

The F-D key converts from fraction to decimal and vice versa. The key to the left of the F-F key, and which is marked a b/c is the one used to enter fractions. The SHIFT F-D sequence toggles between improper fraction and mixed number. The OS of this calculator does not allow the displaying of stacked fractions.

Yes, you do have the division key. It is the division key. However, if you want the fraction to remain a fraction, enter the numerator, press the division key, type in the denominator then Press [MATH] [1:>Frac] then press ENTER. The fraction that will be displayed will be the reduced form.

I cant figure out how to be able to take a fraction and subtract it to another fraction on my TI-84 PLUS calculator

Given two fractions a over b and c over d, you can subtract the first from the second by entering
( c / d ) - ( a / b ) ENTER

The calculator will give you a decimal result, which you can (probably) convert back to a fraction by using the >Frac command. Press MATH 1 ENTER

I cant find how to make my answer in fraction?! please help.

The default Input/Output mode is MthIO. In this mode result may be fractions or radicals or a mix of both.
To set this mode Press [SHIFT][MODE] to enter the (SETUP) screen, then select [1:MthIO]
ab9d8db.jpg

There is a limitation on how many symbols can be displayed on the screen. If there is not enough space to display the result as a fraction, the calculator will use decimals.

There is a key that can toggle the display from fraction/radicals to decimals. That is the [S<->D] key.

Keep in mind that while you can always convert a fraction/radical result to a decimal one, the reverse may, under ceratin circumstances , not be possible.

I don't know how to use fractions

Enter any fraction as a division problem and your TI 83 will evaluate it as a fraction.

For instance, 3/4 = three fourths.

Cant get answers in decimal format, I would like to set up my casio fx83es so that the answer is in decimal format all the time.

Hello,
To make sure that results are always in decimal format, put a decimal mark (point) at the end of one integer.
ex: 1./2 or 1/2. or 1./2. display as 0.5, so does 1. + 1/2
To convert from decimal to fraction and from fraction to decimal press a b/c
To convert from proper to improper fractions use [SHIFT][d/c]
Hope it helps.

Cant do simple calculation

Hello,
When you calculate the product 18x50.30 (not a sum), the calculator gives you a fraction reduced to it simplest terms, 4257/5 (not 4275/50). The result is correct, but it happens that you want it expressed as a decimal rather than a fraction. To fix that all you have to do is to press the button [S<->D] above the red [DEL] key. It allows you to toggle the display format between fraction and decimal.
4257/5 [S<->D] changes display to 905.4 and if you press the key again you go back to fraction
905.4 [S<->D] 4257/5.

Similarly, if you enter square root of 2 and it displays as a radical, you convert it to a decimal by pressing the key [S<->D].

The fraction and radical formats allow you to do exact claculations. But if you do not want to hear about that you can just press [SHIFT][MODE][2:LineIO] : Your calculator will do things the old way, but you will lose some important functionalities.
My suggestion is to set the default mode [MathIO] by pressing [SHIFT][MODE][MathIO] and to press the [S<->D] key to convert to decimal.

Hope it helps.
