Re: Can't find the remote control codes
If you're lucky it will respond to code 10178, if not then you will need a rc64 directv remote and try the proview codes. The proview codes are worthless in any other directv remote other then the rc64 series.
ALSO try code 10835.

I've gone through the codes whcih can be set with the remote control you specified, to the HD receiver of yours. I thinks that this remote control cannot be used with your HD receiver. If you haven't the manual of the above said remote control; either send your exact mail ID thorugh Fixya or send it to my ID which is given below. It cannot be send through this site, as it is an Adobe Acrobat document. OK
Try this, Turn on the TV,press and hold set-up button until light comes on, then release, the light blinks off once, press on-off or power button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the TV turns off, press and release enter to save code.....hope this was helpful...
From the User Guide, they explain you can call and have your remote updated over the phone.
From the users guide:
"This means that as you buy new products the
remote will never become obsolete. Simply call
our consumer help-line at
1-800-950-7044, and one of our customer service
representatives will assist you through the entire
process of upgrading your remote. To ensure the
process goes smoothly, here are a few steps to follow"
It goes on to explain that you should write down the model numbers of the devices and the tech will talk you through the rest. Essentailly you'll hold the phone up to the remote,as directed, and you'll get the codes added to the remote. Seems hi-tech, but I'd suggest they added the sounds as WAV files to their website to you can do it with your computer speackers.
