Alternately, you can do it the cheap mans way and uses one router and two ethernet cords
NOTE: for the Xbox not 360
1. connect one of the cords to the nework port in the back of the XBOx
2. connect the other end of the cord to the router (make sure its pluged in it powers the whole setup)
3. connect the remaining cord from the router to the other Xbox
4. start up a compatable game such as Halo 2 and verify the connection
Console-to-Console Connection: Wireless
Some Xbox games offer console-to-console, or system-link, play, in which two or more players (depending on the game) can wirelessly network their consoles for multiplayer use.
Console-to-console wireless networks are also known as ad-hoc networks. In ad-hoc networks, a wireless adapter on one device connects directly to a wireless adapter on another device. An Internet connection isn't shared with this type of network, and the console-to-console connection is typically temporary.
For console-to-console play, you need:
Two Xbox 360 consoles.
Two Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapters.
An Xbox 360 game that supports system link play.
To wirelessly connect your console to another console:
Attach an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to the back of each console as described in Use Your Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter.
On each console, go to the System area to enter your network settings. (They will be the same for each console.)
If all settings are correct, exit the System area. The consoles should now be wirelessly connected to each other.

It is not possible to use generic usb wireless adapters with the Xbox or Xbox 360 game console. By John AndersonJun 20, 2012 The post John Anderson is correct that this would not work with a XBOX device. These are intended for and installed on computers (laptop or desktop) with which you would need to install drivers for it on. There is supported drivers that will allow the installation of this device into either a XBOX or PlayStation gaming console. A cheaper route would be to replace the PCB and PCBA inside of the C40 console. I will attach a link to a replacement video and also a link to the parts needed.
I've never heard of anyone fix the LED lights. When they go, there gone. Just replace the overhead console. It's eazy to replace the console. Th console just pops down. No special clips. Call the salvage yards for one around $35..Get the warranty from the salvage yard Do Not Buy AS IS. Make sure to remove the negitive battery cable before removing. the console. Eveything unplugs eazy from the console
I suggest you use a Router, the Xbox 360 have had some issues with Crossover Cables. A cheap $10 switch or router will help you play your fun game of prey. And Halo 3 is coming out in September, I'll be getting it and I hope you will too.
