Hi,
VCR video signal wont come out from Component Video Out of combo unit, it is low resolution signal so you need to hook yellow-red-white video cable in tv for VCR output.
Make sure to select VCR as source in combo while playback of VHS tape and select DVD as source when playing dvd disc in combo.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Can't get hooked up so it ALL works vcr, converter box, dvd...

If the DVD works through this "box". Things are looking alright. There must be a number of inpus or hookups to connect VCRs or DVDs or what ever to this "box" that then allow you to hook tp the TV.
If this is the case there has to be a way to swithc the box to the different things hooked to this box so that you can see& hear them.
I do not know what this box is, but can only guess you need to get the manual or more info on how it works.

If you can try to hook each one of your pieces seperately to the box.
First unhook the DVD that works, and hook the VCR. If works, unhook the VCR and hook up the the enxt piece. That way you'll know if each of them is working.

Adding vcr & rec to a '93

Hello,
Please hook up VCR with TV through RF cable and check picture of VCR playback in TV.

Now you can hook DVD player video-audio out in VCR input and can have dvd playback picture in TV via VCR modulator.

If you want to listen sound via receiver then hook audio red-white cable between VCR audio out and receiver audio in terminals.

Let me know exact model numbers of units to help you out more.
Thank you.

Hooking up DVD/VCR combo to directTV and console RCA

I'd first just hook up the DVD/VCR to the TV and get that working. I'm assuming all you need is the standard cable type connection. This will at least your 4 year old happy. Then you can experiment with the S cable. The S cable will give a cleaner signal from the DVD to the TV. then hook up audio and video cables from the Direct TV to the DVD input. The audio and video will be cleaner using S cables and audio and video cables, but stadard TV cable should get you going. You didn't mention what model DVD player you have. You may have to select the correct inout on the DVD for the Direct TV connection.

Trying to hook up your DV220SL8 DVD/CD Video Cassette Recorder. I have an antenna coming in coax but there are no places to plug any of the jacks on the tv.

There are two ways of solving this problem
1.It seems to me that you need an RF Modulator Box. What this does is convert the RCA cables (Yellow,White,Red cables) into coax. You buy the box then plug you antenna and RCA cables into the box. The box has a coax output that goes to your TV. You can then switch from VCR\DVD to antenna.

2. I dont know if your VCR/DVD has it but try hooking up your antenna to the VCR coax INPUT and then hook up your TV to the coax OUTPUT. Both Coax INPUT and Coax OUTPUT should be on the back of the VCR/DVD device. Your going to need an extra Coax wire for this.

Hope this helps

Dvd to vcr?

Plug the DVD connections into the INPUT on the back of the VCR. This is sending the signal from the DVD player INTO the VCR.
If you are familiar with the VHS to VHS, then remove the VCR and replace it with the DVD player.

I hope this helps :)

If the question changes it will send me an automatic message. So if this was not enough info, just let me know! I'll actually hook mine up to record this way then I'll be able to tell you step by step if need be.

I can't hook it back up

Is your DVD player a DVD/VCR combo? If so, hook the "tv out" (sometimes called "ant out" ) to the "ant in" on the DVD/VCR, then hook the "ant out" of the DVD/VCR to the "ant in" on the tv. Then make sure the DVD/VCR and TV are on the appropriate channel (3 or 4).
If it's NOT a combo, or these instructions don't work for you, i will need pictures of the inputs/outputs of the devices.

Sharp vc-a422

This is easy in a nutshell. from the cablebox into the VCR RF connection (ant in) then from the VCR RF into the TV RF in. The from the DVD composite video out and audio out into the VCR composite video in and audio in. This make the VCR the hub of your setup the VCR should be set to channel 3 and you can switch between the VCR and the DVD by using the VCR remote. Now for the cords: 1) Cable to VCR RF = Coaxial 2) Composite Video and audio out = RCA patch cable 3)Composite Video and audio in = RCA patch cable That is it. If your TV can support multiple inputs then use it as the hub. Cable Box to VCR RF (Coax cable) VCR to TV RF(coaxial cable) or VCR to TV Composite video, or TV Component Video (RCA Cable) DVD Player to Composite video, or TV Component Vido (RCA Cable), or Svideo (Svideo cable)
