Hi,

For your requirement here is the remote configuration below.

Establish a data connection with a remote Multi Modem product.

Send three remote configuration escape characters followed by AT and the setup password, and press ENTER. Example: %%%ATMTSMODEM. You have four tries to enter the correct password before being disconnected. If the password is correct, the remote modem responds with OK.

You can now send AT commands to configure the remote modem. When you have finished configuring the remote modem, save the new configuration by typing AT&W0, and pressing Enter.

Type ATO and press Enter to exit remote configuration. You can then break the connection in the normal way.

Setup:

Multi?Tech modems are shipped with a default setup password (MTSMODEM). Because anyone who has an owner's manual knows the default setup password, for security you should change the password and possibly also the remote configuration escape character.

To change the password Open a data communications program such as Phone Tools or HyperTerminal.

To change the password, type AT#S=your new password ENTER. The password can include any keyboard character, and must be one to eight characters long.

The modem responds with OK.

The new password is saved automatically. You can now either enter more AT commands or exit the data communications program. The next time you remotely configure the modem you must use the new setup password.

.

Changing the Remote Escape Character

Establish a remote configuration link with the remote modem as described in "Basic Procedure."

Type ATS9=n, where n is the ASCII code for the new remote configuration escape character, then press ENTER.

Save the new value by typing AT&W and pressing ENTER.

Type ATO to exit from remote configuration.

You can establish a high-speed connection to an external router, DSL modem, or cable modem, and provide firewall and general security for your network. Connect the provided Ethernet cable from the untrusted interface on the NetScreen-5GT device to the external router or modem. You have to use RJ 45 connector to connect them.

To establish a console session:

Plug the female DB-9 end of the serial cable into the serial port of your PC. (Be sure that the DB-9 is seated properly in the port.)

Plug the male DB-9 end of the serial cable into the Console port of theNetScreen-5GT device. (Be sure that the DB- is seated properly in the port.)

Launch a serial terminal program. (A commonly-used terminal program is Hargreaves HyperTerminal.) Typical settings to launch a console session with your NetScreen-5GT device are as follows:

Baud Rate to 9600

Parity to No

Data Bits to 8

Stop Bit to 1

Flow Control to none

At the login prompt, type the default login name: netscreen.

At the password prompt, type the default password: netscreen.

Change the password, set an IP address. You will find detail configuration of ns5gt in its manual.

Connect your computer directly to the Internet modem and make sure that you have Internet access directly from the modem.
If that is working properly then connect the modem to the Internet port on the router. Connect the computer to port 1 on the router.

Problem cisco EA6500 to i-cable router HK

Power off Cable Modem, PC, router, and then disconnected them. Directly connected Cable Modem with PC (Don't connect the router) and power on Cable Modem. When Cable Modem is ready with LED lamps under normal status, also power on PC and try to access Internet service. If Internet service is resumed, please study the router setting of Cable Modem which referred to router's user manual.

How do I connect cable modem to cisco 3560 switch and configure it?

The cable modem will need to go through a router because it needs a NAT and PAT translation table, connecting the cable modem direct would lose the ability to get to the internet.

Where to get oobm modem in new york city and how does it work

You can generally connect to any router from anywhere in the world with the router's IP address and the router password.
Look on the router itself and there should be a sticker with the IP address and the password.
And now you know of the general security flaw in most home routers; if someone has physical access to your router they OWN it.
