Does it have any more letters, etc., in the model ?

I tend to not use HP or anybodies Wireless Assistants. But you ought to be able to see in Device Manager and Networks wether Windows thinks that the wireless card is working or not. Windows uses Wireless Zero Configuration Service to control Wireless Cards. You might have to tell the HP gizmo to let windows manage the wireless.
You might also have to turn the computer over and find where the wireless card is - and check that it is still seated properly in it's slot. That's a pretty advanced thing - and should only be done with the Service Manual or Owners Manual at hand to tell you how.
Mainly the hardware should be showing up in the Device Manager as "working properly" - if not maybe somehow the device driver software got damaged or removed?
Hi Kiran
Thank you for the info.

Mike
I have the same problem but when I downloaded as per your suggestion it said I alreaady had a newer version of the software on my computer. Why then is the wireless assistant not working if it shows it is loaded in the computer???
