I turned it off for two (2) hours - turned it on and it worked. Apparently this unit overheats after one session: one (1) cd-r per session then shut-down.
It is worth it, when it works, because my lps have no hiss when finalized.

I don't founr cd 74 mn 650mb, what use the DENON CDR M30 ??

If I understand your question, it can play any kind of music CD but it can only record on CDR-Audio or CDR-Music discs only.

• Only audio CD-R/RW discs can be recorded with this unit. "Use Audio CD" will be displayed when a disc other than one

for use with audio such as a CD-R/RW disc for use with a personal computer or another type of disc is loaded. (See "Discs that Can Be Used with this Unit" on Page 5.)

• CD-R discs can be recorded to only once. The recorded information cannot be erased.

• The recorded information of CD-RW discs can be erased. When this disc has been finalized, erase after the finalization removal operation has been performed. (See "Cancellation of CD-RW disc finalizing" on Page 28.)

• Recording mistakes made with CD-R discs cannot be erased; therefore, it is recommended that a CD-RW disc be used until you are accustomed to the recording operation.

If you desire 74-minute blank disc just Google "cd-r audio 74". The unit will also use 800MB 80-minute CD's.

Where can I get CD-R's that will work on this machine in Australia these days? ie Are there any non audio marked CD-R's that will work in it? I have tried Verbatim and TDK CDr's without any success. I have...

I don't know about availability of CDR-A or -Music in Australia but they are the only media that home CD Audio Recorders are designed to use.

Regarding the CD-RW Audio disks - I've used them for quite some time and do eventually get uncorrectable errors on them but never No Disc displays. Just the same, I don't consider them reliable enough for vital long term storage of music and use my PC to copy them to a CDR as soon as I can. Being a data- rather than real-time-music copy, I reckon the PC may be able to retry errors it encounters and maybe correct them during the copy.

Hello i have a Philips cdr 870. With every blank CD inserted, the display shows NO AUDIO. Pre recorded CDs play OK. Unable to record. I have recently aquired this machine and this is the first time I have...

You are probably inserting blank computer discs, eg 650 or 700mb rather than blank music CD-R or CD RW`s which this machine is designed to work with. The correct discs are labelled "music audio" or 80 minutes. You can only use these types of discs. Why? When these recorders first came out, it was a way of battling piracey in copying discs. I believe there is a "hack" to enable this player to use blank computer discs.

Wont record on blank pc disks!

I had the same problem and found that I was using the wrong type of CDs. If you look on the CD you have to use the CD that says Compact disc digital audio Recordable or Compact disc digital audio Rewrittable. After I used the Digital ones I could record on it. I then tried the CD on the PC and it worked. You can look on the top of the unit and see the information if you still have it. Hope this helps you.

Akai cdr-160w

I assume it's a blank cd-r or cd-rw disc.

Just write to it with a software progrma like Nero.

NO RECORD

This message usually indicates that a non-audio disc is in the record tray. Please use only blank music CD-R or CD-RW media. Refer to page 12 of the owners manual for more information regarding acceptable media type for the DA-3826. Also, the laser lens in your CD might be dirty or failing. Try the following solutions: Clean the laser lens with a CD player lense cleaning disc. Lense cleaning discs are available at many electronics retail store. Sorry i can't help you more.
