Here is Epocrates answer: "... A fatal error when opening the Epocrates application typically indicates that one of our database files has become corrupt. HotSyncing again may restore functionality. If not, uninstalling and reinstalling our application should correct the problem. Other Fatal Error messages relate to not enough free memory on your mobile device for a complete installation or, your mobile device does not use the correct Palm OS version. Please verify you meet our minimum system requirements by returning to our web site, click Support, and then click System Requirements by your Epocrates application. Delete Epocrates Palm/Win from your mobild device. On your mobile device, tap the clock (located upper left corner of your screen), tap App then Delete. Select the following files (one at a time) then tap Delete. You may not see all of these files on your mobile device. It may take several minutes to delete a file. The file will disappear from the program list or your mobile device will turn off when complete. Everytime I use the search fuction I get a fatal alert message

Make sure you have over 25% remaining space on your HandHeld and try again. Otherwise try a hard reset: Hold down the power button and click the reset button.

Fatal alert

This is a common problem with the Tungsten line, You can try doing a hard reset. This worked for my E2. If that doesn't work, the battery must be removed for a few hours. Although it still may not work after the battery removal.

** To preform a hard reset, hold down the power button, and push the reset button on the back of the unit. The top of your stylus unscrews to expose a "plastic pin" for this purpose. Keep holding down the reset button while the unit reboots. You should see a palm screen displayed while it restarts, let go of the power button and follow the instructions. Pressing up on the pad ring should erase all data.

Fatal alert

I've had the same problem. Mostly I've found that it is a corruption with the documents to go database. (I'm using version 7). To make the error go away, you can delete the docs to go application and the documents and then reload both (make sure you set the desktop to override the handheld until you've got the docs back on your PDA.) I'm considering upgrading to docs to go v10 to see if this will fix the problem ...

Fatal Alert problem

We prayed and asked God to save the data even though we had to do a hard reset. Data was preserved entirely! For this we give thanks--and praise.
