Aiwa BMZ-K1 My aiwa system is currently not switching on. When i try to power on the system all that happens is the LCD backlight flickers on and a relay inside fires. The system then returns to being off and will not power up again for a few seconds. Is there anything that can be done to try to troubleshoot what is making the system not switch on. I have opened up all of the plastic surround and then opened the metal shielding inside. I can see the relay that is making the sound but apart from that the circuit board is huge so if i could narrow down the problem i would be much more likely to be able to fix it. Regards Ben

SOLVED! The problem of the BMZ-K1 switching off instantly after turn on is beacuse of the power_monitor pin not staying at 2V because of some error in the power amplifier. There could be DC at the output of the power amp that can cause this to happen. In my case the dual transistors were faulty and replacing them solved the issue.

Hello Ben. I have the exact same problem. Did you solve the problem? I notice that the power_monitor that comes from the power amp board to the main board has fluctuating -2V after I try to press the power/standby button . after fluctuating in the negative range it eventually returns to 2V and then I can try to power on again, but the same thing happens each time, the LCD backlight fires, relay clicks but the system goes back to standby

If the unit shut off suddenly or just wont turn on it might be a short circuit in the speaker terminals. Disconnect the AC power cord from the AC outlet and reconnect the speaker cords correctly.

In need of aiwa BMZ-K7D service manual

I don't believe that those manuals are available for free anywhere. Is there a specific problem that you are attempting to resolve? Those of us that have access to these manuals are contracturally bound to not release them. We can help to guide you through a repair though.

Please update this with the problem and as many details as possible.

Thanks,
Dan

Aiwa BMZ-K1

Google the model number of your unit. There should be at least three suppliers for these parts. AIWA is a label brand and I think they are owned by Fujitsu.
