Question about Aiwa BMZ-K1 CD Shelf System
Hello Ben. I have the exact same problem. Did you solve the problem? I notice that the power_monitor that comes from the power amp board to the main board has fluctuating -2V after I try to press the power/standby button . after fluctuating in the negative range it eventually returns to 2V and then I can try to power on again, but the same thing happens each time, the LCD backlight fires, relay clicks but the system goes back to standby

Tried rewiring the speaker terminals and the system sill shuts off. even does the same thing with no speakers attached to the system. Thanks for the suggestion though.

If the unit shut off suddenly or just wont turn on it might be a short circuit in the speaker terminals. Disconnect the AC power cord from the AC outlet and reconnect the speaker cords correctly.

My aiwa system is currently not switching on. When i try to power on the system all that happens is the LCD backlight flickers on and a relay inside fires. The system then returns to being off and will not power up again for a few seconds. what is making the system not switch on. is there any fuses inside i could replace to make it work or is it more serious please help
my system will only come on for a second then it clicks and goes off! please help?
SOLVED! The problem of the BMZ-K1 switching off instantly after turn on is beacuse of the power_monitor pin not staying at 2V because of some error in the power amplifier. There could be DC at the output of the power amp that can cause this to happen. In my case the dual transistors were faulty and replacing them solved the issue.
