Question about HEWLETT-PACKARD Office Equipment & Supplies

I purchased a used Hewlett-Packard Commercial CPU. Worked fine until XP was upgraded to Windows . Now I don't have enough Random Memory to add my HP Deskjet printer back on. It takes 512 mgb and I only have 506 or 508...can't remember. Is there a printer that takes less as I don't know anything about adding memory.

Yes you can add more memory to this printer. It slots into the formatter (under left side cover)

Hi. I've gost looked in my Win XP's known printers list and I found that win XP has generic drivers for HP DJ 640. In conclusion U don't need to install something.
Jost plug it in on USB or LPT1 (lpt1 - when conecting to the PC, the printer should be off) and when XP asks for the drivers, select it from the list...

check your add ons with google chrome, you may be able to disable some functions and that would help CPU consimption

Slow Windows Machine!

Sounds like not enough resources such as RAM and CPU. Check Performance in Task-Manager (CTRL-ALT-DELETE).

Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig > Startup tab and uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running.

his just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when you initiate.

i'd say that your cpu or the memory got fried in that lightning hit does the computer come on at all?

try this turn off computer

press F8 for SAFE Mode while turning computer back on

The 666 in the part number indicates a 666 MHz memory stick. In the spec of the HP 2530 P, it needs DDR2 800 Mhz memory. Possible that the memory is not compatible.

It should install fine without being a signed driver. Even though it is an XP driver it will be fine for Vista. I would recommend just downloading the latest software from the manufacturer's website though to be sure.

check all power leads from ((motherboard to hard)) drive and all of your cd/dvd drives make sure the connections are good and not faulty and there is no dust built up on them even something as small asa faulty fan and its electrical lead can cause this problem
