Hi ,

If this drive happens to be one of the recent NEC/Optiarc drives then the drive is stuck in safe mode.
At (post boot) repeatedly press the eject button and the drawer should open and recover the drive. (only relevant to NEC drives 357x/457x or newer).

My ps3 wont turn on and flashes red press once stops flashing pressed again and it starts to turn on (green light) then stops and beeps then flashes red

Hello
This is due to a hard drive fault.Try removing the hard drive and reinstalling it.
Also while it is out, use a can of compressed air to blow all dust from your ps3.

If the above does not work your going to need a new hard drive.

Flashing device status light

Ok the lightning bolt is your power indicator: solid green-charging, Flashing green-fully charged, flashing red-low battery, flashing red three times the once green-bad battery. the "trash can" looking one is your hard drive activity indicator it will flash while your hard drive is reading and writing.

Pover up trouble

sounds like something is drawing down on your 12 volt supply drives or on board regulators. Try it without the drives connectged, and see if you can get the system to boot up(you'll just get a notice that your drives are unavailable, but you'll already know that, right?

got backup for your Dell?

Flashing led light on my hard drive

well the best thing i figured out to do was to purchase a new case. i think the case burned up. i pulled the hard drive out and hooked it up to another drive so to see if it would work. the drive works just fine in the other device, so i ordered another case.

Crossfire 160 GB external hard drive

Dear Crewchief Try deep freezing your drive, really, I mean freezing it for more than an hour, take it out and attach as a primary or secondary slave and see if it cycles up. Sure hope this helps.
