My acer 4937G does not start. After the windows vista logo appears,the computer automatically off's itself, without any warning.what is my problem?

First of all you have to check if it is a hardware or software issue, go to bios screen and leave the computer in bios screen, if it restarts in bios screen it is a hardware issue and if it didn't then it is a operating system issue, then you can probably check with safemode with networking, last known good configeration etc, if nothing works, then you can reinstall the operating system, after reinstalling operating system if it still contineous then you have to check thsi computer is hardware specialist/vendor

First, BACKUP WHAT YOU WANT!!!!! IT WILL BE GONE WHEN YOU FINISH!!!!! If you cannot get to your files, start in safe mode and collect them. if you cannot get to safe mode. grab a linux live cd, such as knoppix, you can boot a whole linux os from cd without installing and retrieve your files VIRUS FREE!!!!! once you feel you have backed up what you want to keep follow these insructions.

    • 1 Reboot your computer. As the computer comes on, click the "F2" key on your keyboard. This will activate the BIOS utility screen.
    • 2 Locate the Acer disk-to-disk recovery system on the first screen of BIOS and click the box to enable it. This will allow you to reset the computer without a recovery disk. Save your settings and exit BIOS per the instructions on the screen.

    • 3 Restart the computer.
    • 4 Press "ALT + F10" on your keyboard as soon as the Acer logo appears on the screen.
    • 5 Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a system recovery and reset the computer to the factory default settings.

oh a fun one. Reset your bios to defaults. if that doesn't work then try a windows disk boot up. if that doesn't work you're screwed.

if you want any of your files from the computer first pull out the hdd buy a cord and transfer them to another computer.

When you first turn on the laptop and see the Acer logo screen, hold the ALT key and press the F10 key (you need to do this before the Acer logo disappears).
