Wow ur all noobs u gotta get a special opener for the back open it then u will see a battery. that is what save all ur data. u have to get a flat screw driver and break off that metal part on top. it is spot welded on both sides i know my spelling stinks but deal with it. the metal bar does absolutally nothing but hold in the battery. next get the battery out buy a new 1 and scotch tape it back in it should work now... thanks 4 readin

The game cartridge save batteries are probably dead.

I don't think it's possible to undelete the game without a cheat device. However, the data won't be completely gone until its all written over. Even with the cheat device, you'll only be able to partially recover the data. Anyway, make sure the batteries are ste ok... and Do NOT use it if your batteries are low

after saving the game for me to charge the batteries, when i opened it again the screen will display "file data destroyed" and the game i saved was lost.
I have the same problem where i save the game, turn off the gameboy and then when i turn it back on the saved game is deleated. I have full battries when i start the game and the battries are still full when i finish. I have also brought two of the same games but both do the samething.
Plz someone help cause i am getting annoyed now :S
I also have this problem, but with Pokemon Diamond. My guess is as the second solution suggested, that the cartridge battery is dead. (other games save and load just fine) What is the solution to a replacement battery for the cartridge? Can you provide a link to a "how-to replace the battery" website or something?
On my pokemon gold i just bought when i first got it i played the game and saved it and it worked fine then i went back and played it again saved and turned off the gameboy color. When i turned it back on it went to new game and everytime since i always have to restart and continue game is never an option. This same thing happened when i bought pokemon silver(which i took back because i thought it was the game) Do you think it is the game again or the gameboy color itself?
same problem
when i saved the game it saved successfully and turn off but it was deleted please help
