If it's a japanese import from the junkyard then you can't change it. It's better to have a new head unit to get rid of the problem.

thats not true i have been advised other by a technician that it can be done they advised me to contact fixa you have found the most simple and not helpful solution, you are the only person who has told me that.
i have a pioneer car stereo that everything displayed is in japanese , know i have spoken to a so called expert technian and asked him how to configure to english he advised me that the unit is useless , if i put a dvd or mp3 it will bring up in english but other items such as radio ,gps ,settings is in japanese . what can be done to change to english.
