Text Display Memory

My PD-F1007 only "remembers" disc titles for a few days. When played, all disc and track titles will display, but after a few days the unit can no longer retain the disc name data. Any internal battery, capacitor, etc. that might be the problem? Thanks, DRFr

Most likely you have to replace the internal battery.

I am facing the same problem! By all means get it repaired. You can find the nearest Pioneer warranty station by calling 800-421-1404. You will need a copy of the purchase receipt when you bring it in for ervice. My story: I got it for a gif last Christmas, and after I had it for a month, it lost it's memory. (title index) So I called up Pioneer corp on the phone and this dude said make sure you don't have it hooked up to a switched AC. and I did, so I corrected that and he said use the remote to shut the unit off, oh by the way the remote sucks...!!!! but the memory is only lasting about three weeks or so. and it takes hours to put the cd's in memory. Anyway, i am on the way to ask for service...

G'day, I have owned and looked after my DXZ735 MP since 2004 and have recently had a new pickup fitted and a full service, along with some new firmware. The Title 'tags' have never worked properly and I...

I don't think there is anything wrong with how your doing the ID3-tag..
Have you tried pressing the [D] button while playing one of these disc's..
It sounds to me like it's reading the CD title as the ROOT (main) folder.
I found this in the manual:
Displaying CD titles
This unit can display title data for CD-text/MP3/ WMA disc and user titles input with this unit.
1. Press the [D] button to display the title.
2. Each time you press and hold the [D] button for 1 second or longer, the title display changes in the following order:
User title (disc) ? CD-text title (disc) ? Artist name ? CD-text title (track) ? User title (disc)... Folder ? File ? Album TAG ? Artist TAG ? Title TAG ? Folder...
For more info have a look at the online manual:

You will find the info on page 12 through to 13.

The pd-f1007 301 disc player was working fine yesterday, and this morning i turned it on,, and the display didn't come on, and the tray just keeps spinning very slowly, any ideas

You may need to take the backing off of the player to check if any cds might have jamed in the actual cd player. i have one similar to this that jams because of one cd that is a little bit larger then the other.

Pioneer PD-F1007

The battery should be located next to an IC on the left hand side of the main circuit board.
It looks like a coin standing on it's side, have a blue rim
and it'll say (or should say) ELNA 0127 5.5v
