Our kreepy has a beige paint like film all over it and it's not kreeping anymore. Nothing is stuck inside of it. Any ideas as to why it has this film/stopped working? I have it soaking in vinegar and hot water to scrub it off. Thanks, Trish

Sounds like something caused your water to precipitate scale. high pH or alkalinity coupled with an elevated calcium hardness may do that. make sure the footpad is in good shape, should have visible groves, if it's completely flat get a new footpad.

Scott, Not too hard, but give it a sharp rap on a counter top, this will some time free up stuck mechanisms in cameras.

Creepy not working good suction it sticks to the bottom of the pool and wont move

If it is an actual Kreepy Krawler that Pulsates and you have good suction then you should look k side and see if something is stuck inside the diaphragm or if the diaphragm is torn then it has to be replaced.

Hose broken where it fit into the kreepy krawley

Go to an autoparts store and ask about EASYOUTS. They are reverse tapered tools that fit in the opening and grab the piece and screw it out.

My Kreepy has a Starfish seal on it. It is being used in a pebble tec pool. I bought it new less than a year ago. Here are my problems...The Kreepy is getting stuck by my stairs (they are more like...

If the cleaner is getting stuck on objects (steps, ladder, corners, benches, etc), you need to remove the dive float restrictor and install a wall climb adjuster. It is part number K12065. Anyone that sells Pentair products should have one. This will keep your pool cleaner from becoming stuck. It might also help with the seal problem, but that is most likely something caught in the flapper. Check to be sure that the pool cleaners getting proper flow and that the flapper is clear of debris.

Advance lever is stuck. I bought new film and a new battery for my canon ae-1, loaded the new film, and took two shots until the frame counter read 1. the next day I advanced the film and when i pressed...

Like all AE-1's and related models, your camera is gumming up inside as the internal lubricant films are at least 25 years old and are largely dried-out.

The fix is to get the camera to a repair specialist for a CLA service (Clean, Lubricate, Adjust). As a one-off extra cost also get the foam light seals and foam mirror buffer replaced as they'll either be absent by now or will still be turning to a sticky goo. Modern foam is is different material and is will not decay like the old stuff.

A CLA and foam replacement definitely costs more than the residual value of the camera, but they're solidly built and have plenty of cheap high quality lenses so can still achieve results which compare well to even the best modern pro dSLR's. Get the work done and your camera will probably last until 35mm film ceases to be available. Your camera will also withstand conditions which you'd never dare risk a dSLR in.

I back washed both weir and scimmer boxes are clean but kreepy stays weak. There is nothing in kreepy pipe or mouth

You can look inside the cleaner to see if there is debris in there. If debris got past the pump basket you might have a clogged impeller limiting the suction. 1 other thing to check is the foot pad on the bottom of the cleaner. If it is worn it could be sucking itself to the bottom of the pool.
