Format is correct. Other people have said to purchase the service manual and there may be a fix.

Model number would be written on sticker pasted at rear of tv.

Press Format button on tv remote repeatedly to select appropriate picture size.

  • Anonymous Aug 13, 2011

Press Format and select Standard option to get picture best fit in screen.
Click here to download user manual of tv and check page-64 for more details.

OK, what is video source connected with tv that is showing large / bigger picture?
Try to connect another video source like DVD Player etc and check picture size in tv screen.

Picture doesn't fit screen. A 1-1/2 inch wide band on top and bottom of screen. Have tried the picture button on remote but it only gives me options ie: Panoramic, standard, wide etc. Nothing seems to

Many units will self adjust the image size, but the size of the image you will see depends on what size it was originally recorded in. You can change it in the settings of the TV but most likely it will not go bigger if it was shot smaller.

TV picture is smaller than screen, how do I make it bigger?

See if there is a "wide" button on the remote. Should scroll through the display size options
Go to menu and picture adjustments are there as well

I seem to have screwed up my picture size. Was trying to get a bigger on-screen picture, but wound up making it small & distorted-looking. What settings should I have set? Thanks!

It would be on the TV remote usually for "pic size/resolution" You can probably find the resolution settings in the picture menu. 4:3, theater wide, etc.

The picture is bigger than the screen... Picture is cut off and when I unscrewed the back of the tv I could see that the picture was showing perfect but it was to big for the screen... There's not a way to...

Have you tried hitting the format picture button on your remote control. Seems the picture is in zoom mode. If you have a cable box for HD Channels then look on the remote for a button (format) or Screen size.

Picture too large for screen

If the television is connected to a cable box such as Time Warner's HD box, the picture mode can be changed by pressing the '#' on the cable box's remote keypad (where the channel numbers are). This cycles the picture between zoom, normal, and stretch which could be cause of your problem.
