I am installing a Pyle PLMR87WB stereo into a Pyle PLMRCW3 Water resistant stereo housing. I am soldering the connectors and shrink wrapping them. Do I need to connect the memory wire. I do not want to run down my battery during storage; however, I may loose features during use?

OK, time to go into cheat mode. You can always install a toggle switch to that wire. The only features I see you losing are that the time will be incorrect on the clock and it might not save your preset radio stations. All other functions are basic. Might I suggest a lighted toggle switch, this will help to remind you to turn it off.

Happy Wiring

Pyle plcm 7500 car backup camera. Installed & was working but no2 but now screen black& keeps flashing view in back of camera..can't make it stop! Please help! was working until I touched a button.

I would only assume your connections to the wiring in the car are faulty, did you use solder joints and shrink wrap every connections you made? That is very important.

F5TF-19B132-BA Ford Radio Pin out

The stereo pin layout can be obtained from the car dealership, also a repair manual should have the stereo wiring harness layout in it , the stereo harness adapter for installing non oem stereo, found at the local auto parts store will come with the wiring layout, wires are color coded too, sometimes the stereo harness or stereo harness adapter will have small writing on the wires itself, showing you what that wire is for, and where it should connect.

Basically it comes down to, obtaining the stereo wiring layout, read the description on the wires, and properly connect them together, then solder the wires or crimp them, I like to solder mine with soldering wire for electronics, and put shrink tubes to protect the wires, put the shrink tubes on the wires before soldering together, and ensure the shrink tube is the proper size awg wire gauge.

You will also need, aftermarket face adapter kit and antenna adapter, if installing aftermarket stereo.

Hope this helps and enjoy the stereo :)

Rav4 fuel pump

You can buy shrink wrap tubing at any Lowe's, Home Depot, or electronics store.
I never leave an exposed connection. In fact, I usually put 2 pieces of shrink wrap tubing on the wire before soldering. After soldering, I slide one over the solder joint and shrink it with heat, then slide the second one over the first and shrink it with heat.

1996 Ford Thunderbird Stereo deck installation issues. I purchased a Pyle Deck and the wiring from the stock stereo has no instructions to crimp which wires to which. The Pyle deck has the instructions on...

Your best would be to buy a harness adapter to connect the new deck through the adapter into the existing OEM wire harness connector. It makes things so much easier and more reliable.

Changed Radio and now car won't start

What stereo did you use as a replacement? If you used a aftermarket (kenwood, sony, etc) cd player, you need to use the proper adapter harness. These cars have a build in theft deterrent system that involves the stereo. So, when you replace the stereo, a component of your anti theft system is missing. The use of the harness gets around this feature somehow, and allows you to use aftermarket CD players. Also, ensure that no wires are getting pinched behind the stereo, and that all your connections are soldered and shrink wrapped to avoid any future problems. I have provided a link for the correct adapter harness to your vehicle.

(1999 grand cherokee laredo 4.0 6 cil) one of the wires that connect to the reverse light switch on the tranny is disconnected and their is minor corrosion. Can you tell me if I need to solder the wire...

Best repair would be to clean the wire and solder it. use shrink tubing on the connection, then wrap with tape. If you were to use a crimp connector, it would work for a short time and then fail because water and road dirt would quickly cause it to corrode.

I dnt know how to hook my sony explode cdx gt 200 to my honda civic hatchback 94

The Honda Civic requires a dash adaptor you need this wiring harness to install the stereo it dont seem a dash adaptor is required for the 94 model you use the cage/sleeve to install the sony in your car you will also need this removal tool and either wire nuts, heat shrink tubing, crimp caps and crimp tool or the common solder and wrap in electrical tape method to connect the wiring harness for the honda to the wiring harness for the stereo

Trouble connecting marine amp to stereo

Hello lizskates814,

You can use either the high level (speaker) or the low-level (RCA's) inputs to the amp, but not both. Choose whichever one sounds the best or is more convenient to install and leave the other disconnected.

Hope this helps.

In door controls not working

You asked the right person!

The easiest way (a bit tricky) is to go purchase some heat-shrink tubing (if you have a way to melt the tubing) that is made for the gauge of your wires. find some extra wire of the same gauge for better clearance. Remove the end caps you used (you will need some solder and a soldering iron--very easy to learn with a bit of practice and inexpensive too). Slide the heat-shrink tubing over one end of the non-connected wire. With a bit of solder and a hot soldering iron, repair the connection. Slide the heat-shrink tubing over the connection and heat (if you don't have a hot hair dryer or other heater to melt the heat-shrink, simply patch lightly with electrical tape).

If you don't have enough clearance for electrical tape, use hot glue over the connections (it works very well, is water-proof, and more common) so you don't get a short, then wrap with only one layer of black electrical tape and tuck away.
