Not a bad decision, all in all. Maybe get a gas job. All of the posts concerning electric trimmers on here show ME how problematic they are, how cheap they are and how prone to failing they are! Maybe get a cheap gas job? With proper care and maintenance, these units can last several years.

My ryobi 4 cycle weed eater leaks oil when running is this normal

Try a couple fixes:
Air filter rebuild kit, and
Fuel filter rebuild kit.

Both kits are available at Home Depot but you may have to select ship to store if there are none in stock.

I'm not sure if Lowe's carries these, but I would imagine they do.

Please let me know if, and how, you may have already fixed the problem. I'm having the same problem with my Ryobi C430 4 cycle weed trimmer and am going to try the aforementioned fixes. I will check back and let you know if this works.

Good luck!!!

Bought a Ryobi weed trimmer CS26 from Home Depot. The second time I used it string broke both ends. Could not take it apart went to Home depot after 30 days they could not take it apart. They would not...

just cheap equipment. Mark it up to experience and do not purchase equipment fro home center or box stores ever again.

This is just one of the many problems of dealing with

the box stores rather than a full service qualified dealer. If you can

find one in your area, patronize them. Not just when the box store

lets you down but for everything. These type dealers are

disappearing and are not being replaced and soon they will all be

gone.
