Hello, it sound like the image tube is having some problems. These monoculars/binoculars can't take to much slamning, drop or two, abuse, there real touchy. You can unscrew the lens and take a little look see. Look for some brown/black glazing on both end of the tube, it will kinda streaky, not real heavy in color. Also, check the 18mm/25mm white plate at the front of the binocular on that tube. If there is some discoloration or even small cracks in this coated thin film. If has any sign as mentioned above---new tube of if you can find a used one. If the image intensifier tube is painted green it Russian.
About every indusrial country in the world make these NV devise, some good, some not so good. stewbison
thanks for the quick response. Is there a place to bring this so it can be fixed? or a number to call?
Check with will Planet Optics and some of the other Optics. There a few out there that will fix most other companies NV devises. Check will your local electronic people and ask them they know someone that will fix these NV devises. I figure there is aleast 30 to 35 Optics and NV companies here in the USA. Find one to fix you scope at a resonable price is another thing. All thes NV companies sell the product like it gold but in reality it is cast iron. I would repair it for you for nothing,. I retired and sold all my electronic testing equipment and parts.
Let know if the tube is bad. If you take it apart make sure the all the wires are marked to where they go to and where the come from. Draw a ruff diagram on the wire location on the boards.
I am fairly sure that this a Russian binocular with some other company name on it. Take a few piicture and send to me at [email protected]. My name is Richard.
