When I try to download pictures from the Fun! Digital 320, I get a window that says "checking for camera," then I get an error message that says "checksum error." What does this mean?

Re:
The Checksum error usually indicates a data transmission issue. This may be due to a loose connection, bad wiring, electrical interference (cross-talk), a physical problem with the device itself, or a conflict caused by another software program.
* Make sure that the cable attaching the camera to the computer is secure at both ends.
* Close down all of the computer's other applications before attempting to download.
1. Press the CTRL, ALT and DELETE keys simultaneously. This will bring up the Close Program Window.
2. Highlight the program that you want to close and select END TASK. The Close Program window closes only one program at a time, so you will have to repeat these steps for each program that you want to close.
NOTE: The SYSTRAY and EXPLORER programs should be allowed to run. Do not select End Task for these programs. You will also want to leave any necessary programs running, such as those controlling a wireless mouse or keyboard.

Unfortunately this sofware only works with windows 95/98, but if you use windows XP compatability wizard it should work.
Go to this site for help on how to do it as I would have take up the whole page to type it.

Microsoft defines Kernel32 errors as follows:
"The Kernel32.dll file is a 32-bit dynamic link library file that is found in Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Millenium Edition (Me). The Kernel32.dll file handles memory management, input/output operations, and interrupts. When you start Windows, Kernel32.dll is loaded into a protected memory space so that other programs do not take over that memory space.
On occasion, you may receive an invalid page fault (IPF) error message. This error message occurs when a program tries to access the Kernel32.dll protected memory space. Occasionally, the error message is caused by one particular program, and other times the error message is provoked by multiple files and programs."
The following is a listing of the error codes you might see on the status panel of the PhotoMAX Fun! Digital 320 camera:
1.FL - Photo memory is full.
You cannot take more photos. Download and then erase the photos in your camera.
2.FE - Flash memory error.
A camera hardware error occurred. This can happen when the power is shut off before a photo is completely stored in the camera. Do not shut off the power until the green light comes back on steady after you take a photo.
3.bE - Hardware problem.
Turn the power switch on and off and see if the error message disappears. If the error message persists, the camera may need to be replaced.
4.Lo - Battery low.
Replace the camera battery as soon as possible. If you continue to use the camera, picture quality will be poor.
5.LL - Low light condition.
The camera does not have enough light to take a good photo. Improve the subject lighting if possible. Example: When taking indoor photos, add additional room lighting.
Your Polaroid Fun! Digital 320 camera does not have a flash. If pictures are coming out dark, it's because there wasn't enough light in the surroundings when the picture was taken.
Remember, it's important to take photos in brightly lit surroundings.
When taking pictures indoors, make sure that the room has bright lighting. For best results, take pictures during daylight hours with a combination of indoor and outdoor light, preferably near a window.
The "Camera not connected" error message indicates a communications problem in the serial port connection between the camera and the computer. Simply put, the computer cannot find the camera it is being asked to connect with.
Whenever an external device (digital camera, scanner, Palm Pilot, etc.) is connected to a computer through its serial port, a communications error is possible. There is usually no single "most likely" reason for the conflict -- it could be a hardware issue as easily as it could be a software issue.
Fortunately, the most common causes of this error message are also the most easily rectified:
1.Make sure that the camera power is on.
2.Make sure that the camera cable has not been damaged.
3.Make sure that the camera cable is properly connected to both the camera and the computer.
4.Clean out the computer's Temp file.
A new camera TWAIN driver (version 2.2L) compatible with Windows 2000 is now available for download. The new TWAIN driver will allow photo transfer using most image viewing or editing programs that are TWAIN compatible.
