My mp3 playing pretty much freezes when i turn it on and it starts to load, like usual it says "profiling media files..." but i wait forever and it never turns on.
i am having same problem , its just says 'profiling media files' and i keep on waiting , i tried taking out the bateries even then its not working.. plz plz can anyone suggest me wat to do...

Unplug
the mp3 from the USB press and hold the menu button for 10 seconds release then press and hold the play button -- while holding the play
button plug it back in. Wait until it says intializing, then release the
play button and press start.
Go to "http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/voxrightnow.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2559" To update the firmware of the M42xx mp3 playerclick here and download the firmware. start the firmware and when it is runnin plug the M42xx in at the same time holding down the PLAY BUTTON (center) until a white screen with a small computer with a line going to your M42xx is displayed and then release the PLAY button. You can then click on start and the firmware update will complete,,, DO NOT DISCONNECT DURING THIS UPDATE... it may take 2 times to complete this but it will work.... YEA!!!! WORKS with 2, 4 or 8 GB Models.....
i have the same problem, samsung froze at its logo, cannot be recognized by my computer. the problem occured when i try to make my mp3 as a usb boot driver. i cannot turn off it unless reset it.
i have the exact same problem.. but i took mine apart and broke it
more... lol. it turned on, but only pearl came up and wouldnt load. the
only thing that couldve made it happen was the battery died and it shut
down, so i turned it back on and it started playing and died again but
didnt shut down.. when i put a new batterie in it to turn it on, thats
what happened
I Google'd a way to reset it and it says that you have to hold the power button down for like 15 seconds and then it will reset. Apparently the freezing is pretty common, buts its still an over all good Mp3 player.
