Dryer model NED7200TW...select drying cycle, press start, and all I get is a "click". When I pause it or turn it off, it clicks again. The click is coming from a part on the circuit board. The part is located in the corner, and is in two pieces. The top piece is opaque plastic, and has brown and black wires coming out of it. It plugs into a black piece on the circuit board. Help?

LG Smart Sense Dryer. The 'Check Filter' light is on. It won't start and makes a clicking noise. Help please.

Question edited for clarity and change 'want' to 'won't', a contraction of 'will not'.

The check filter indicator is a reminder to clean the lint filter before each use to ensure effective drying every time. The indicator turns off when you turn the cycle knob to select a drying program or when the start/pause button is pressed.

Drum knock when spin cycle

Hello.
Noises are common when using a two-in-one washer and dryer, as clicking or whirring is part of the cleaning process during the transition to the next cleaning process. The GE Spacesaver washer and dryer combo uses a top-loading washer stacked beneath the front-loading dryer, and uses an agitator that makes noises throughout the spin cycle. Although whirring or clicking is normal, other noises or malfunction indicates a problem with the washer that requires minor troubleshooting. Professional repair is necessary if the washer continues to experience problems during the spin cycle, as there may be a problem with the washer's agitator.
1 Open the washer's door and check the balance of the load's clothes. Clothes that are unevenly distributed around the agitator cause excessive shaking and result in an imbalance during the spin cycle. Reduce the load's size by removing clothing if the washer's drum is overloaded.
2 Push "Start/Pause" to pause the spin cycle and turn the washer's cycle knob to the "Off" position. Turn the knob to "Spin Only" and press "Start/Pause" to reset the cycle.
3 Turn the wrench counterclockwise or clockwise around the unit's legs to adjust the appliance's balance. The legs are adjustable with the help of a wrench to ensure the unit does not shake while in use. An unleveled unit shakes as it spins, and causes excessive squealing or rattling as it attempts to dry the clothes.
4 Touch "Start/Pause" on the front of the washer's control panel and unplug the washer/dryer unit's power cord from the electric oultlet. Wait two minutes and plug the power cord back into the electric outlet. Push "Start/Pause" to resume the spin cycle.
Thanks.

How do i do drying only

From the document I see, it is only a matter of pressing the "Dry" button. This is from the manual, available at http://www.lg.com/us/appliances/washer-dryer-combos/LG-WM3431HW.jsp and selecting the "Support" tab. On the right, there will be a "Washer/Dryer Combos Manual" link, which will download to your computer. Listed under "Dry" in Section 9 is the following.
• Drying options are easily selected with the Dry button. • For most even drying , make sure all articles in the clothes load are similar in material and thickness. • Do not overload dryer by stuffing too many articles into drum. Items must be able to tumble freely • If you open door and remove load before dryer has finished its cycle, remember to press the Start/Pause button. • By pressing the Dry button, you can select "Normal" - "More" - "Time" - "Off" - "Low Temp" - "Less" • Your dryer can handle a load of up to 9 lbs. (4 kg) dry weight of articles. • When drying cycle is completed, [Cd] (Cool Down) is displayed on the Multi display. • Cool Down is set automatically when the drying cycle is complete. • If clothes are not removed promptly when the drying cycle ends, wrinkles can form. • The Cool Down feature periodically tumbles, rearranges and fluffs the load to avoid wrinkles for up to 4 hours. • The message [Cd] will continue to display until the clothes are removed or the Start/Pause button is pressed
Hope this solves your problem. I highly recommend downloading the users manual, it is a wealth of information and will prove useful in many circumstances.

Model MDE9700AYW: I set the timer for a certain amount of time (say 30 minutes). I come back 45 minutes later and the dryer is still running. There is also a "racetrack" in the display. No error...

Instructions

1. Break your load down into smaller groups. Large, saturated blankets, duvets, blankets and other upholstery can be too heavy for the MDE9700AYW to safely dry. Dry large large items one at a time with some smaller items such socks and underwear to better balance the load. One washer load should equal one dryer load.
2. Confirm that the cycle selector has been pushed down and the dryer door is latched shut. When the dryer door is opened, the cycle is temporarily paused to protect you from injury. Press the cycle selector down to resume the drying cycle once the door has clicked closed.
3. Examine the circuit breakers or fuses in the dryer's electrical circuit. The Maytag MDE9700AYW needs two active fuses or breakers, depending on your home, to operate its electronics and spin the drum. The dryer may not spin if either one of the fuses or breakers is inactive.

My kenmore 417 94082500 dryer keeps pausing and shutting off with no errors between 5 and 10 min from starting.

Rotate the cycle selector knob three clicks clockwise (3 o'clock position) from the Normal cycle option then press and hold the Select and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously for six seconds.Immediately after, press and hold the START and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously for 4 seconds. Rotate the cycle selector knob one click counterclockwise (2 o'clock position) and the error code will appear in the digital display as an "E" followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters. Post back the error code for further advice.

LG Washing Machine All-in-One

Some magic happened today!

I got the thing (wd-12331ad) to dry without having to run a wash first!

Also, I seemed to get it to do a spin only run...

The way to get it to dry :
-----------------------------------
(for a set time - I've not managed to get any of the auto-dry settings to work)
from machine being off:
> press the power button.
> press the "Dry" button 'til "Time" lights up
>>> press "Dry" again to get the desired duration
> press the spin button 'til the spin speed shows blank/ the RPM light goes out.
> press "Start/Pause"

It will then dry for the number of minutes specified!

Not perfect, I know but that's serious progress from where I was before; having to re-run a wash cycle to get it to dry anything...

Something to note:
- The machine worryingly sounds like it's starting to fill with water when you start the "Just Dry" program which scared me at first. BUT it stops after a second or so (I think it's just cleaning out the detergent tray so it doesn't bake any leftover powder)

For "spin only" from machine being off:
-------------------------------------------------------
> press the power button.
> press the spin button
>>> if you press "Start/Pause" now you get a 13 minute 1200 spin cycle
>>> press the spin button again and then "Start/Pause", it seems to drain itself for 1 minute
>>> pressing spin repeatedly, cycles through the spin speeds.

Things I don't know:
----------------------------
- I don't know if you can combine spin and heat.
- I don't know whether the auto-dry programs are available
- I don't know what other programs are available from the "Dry"/"Spin" buttons

...So if anyone does any experimenting, please let us know the results, you never know, we might end up with a half way useful set of instructions! I'm starting to think the machine's not half as bad as it seems when following the manual alone.

Hope that helps.
Will
