My Goodmans television has refused to come on but the standby light is on.

Did you try pushing the On button of the set? New batteries for the remote? Power Reset, unplug from the wall socket, press and hold the power button for one minute, plug it back in?

I have a DVP642/37 player and after a power outage, the only thing that it will do is flash a red light on the standby button. None of the other buttons work. When I select the DVD player via TV remote,...

Hello
just unplug the DVD player from AC wall power socket, and lst it be in that state for at least 10 minutes and the replug and see whether it helps you. If not, the power supply inverter board of your DVD player is faulty. some fault are repairable, and some others are not. Anyway, it will be best to replace this board as card basis, rather than get it repair. OK.

Hello, here is a sample for auxilary connection for the chdvd300: . Use the AV (Audio/Video) cable
provided to connect the DVD player to
your TV as shown in the diagram.
. Your TV must be equipped with AV
inputs like those pictured to the right in
order to connect this unit.
. If your TV does not have AV inputs, you
will need a RF Modulator to connect this
player to your TV's antenna/cable input.
RF Modulators are available at major

Start button not working standby light staying

The switch is for 'REC' 'Standby' and "PLAY".
If you leave it switched to "Play" and pull the plug and push it in to the wall receptacle (mains) it should start playing after a few seconds delay. The same for "REC". You use a timer unit on the power cord for those.
If you have the switch in the middle position and plugged-in, you should have a tiny Red LED illuminated. Push "Power" and it should start-up and be ready to use in a matter of a few seconds.

Staying on standby

Check P611 in power supply. Its a 1.5a 60v pico fuse (yellowish in color). Also disconnect
plugs when in order not to get false reading when checking other components
