It is possible if they support the Exif data (image data) based on DCF. However, they may not be played back, or played back as thumbnails depending on the file format, image size or data configuration in a file. Also, the audio files attached with images cannot be played on this camera. DCF = abbreviated expressions of a standard for aim at the compatibility in files between the related devices such as digital cameras. Please refer to the instruction manual of your camera (main specification - image file format) to confirm if the camera is compliant to DCF or not.

My sony cyber shot DSC F717 digital camera has a problem. when turned on, no images on the screen. as well in the view finder.

This problem could be a number of things.
Does it allow you to have any access to the menus? If you can get to the menus, try setting the menus to default settings. Test the camera after setting the menus to default.

Can the camera play back images or videos and show on the screen? If they can be seen, then possible some setting is not right.
If you cannot see images when in recording mode try the play back mode and see if you can see any images in the lcd.
If you cannot see any images in either play back or record mode, and no menus, then the camera needs to be repaired.

If you can see images when you play back, and none when in record mode, then the ccd is suspected to be defective. If that is so, call Sony, give them your camera model and serial to see if they can repair the camera. The status will have to be determined by Sony repair.

Sony F55 Recorded Display

The filename (e.g. DSC0012.jpg) shows the image number, the filespec shows the date and time recorded. Most software will give you document info about resolution of the image. I wouldn't worry about what the battery status was when the shot was taken or how many other images were on the Mstick. I guess I'm not sure what you need.

Movie mode function

The movie mode function allows you to record short movie clips. The recorded movies can be played back or stored as still images using the cameras index function. Please note that the D-390 does not record sound in the movie mode.
