HI, Im trying to pair my nokia 6230 phone with my Ipaq rz1710 VIA IRDA.
When i set the ipaq to recieve incoming beam it sticks on "establishing connection with......" and goes no further.
I have also tried it with a Samsung D500 and it does the same. I thought it was a fualt with the ipaq but i have tried 3 and they are all the same.
How do i pair the two together???
ANyone got a soloution?
No Need to pair IRDA with Ipaq PPC,s most models of Ipaq PPC have Infrared always active try to send a picture to your Ipaq directly from the gallery of your Nokia 6230 via IRDA its should work. U Can not pair Nokia Mobile phones to PPC due to nokia,s Software. But you can pair with a Desktop pc with a IRDA dongle

It's pretty easy. In your iPAQ 214 go on SETTINGS > GPS > and make sure the INCOMING CONNECTIONS are on CHANNEL 6, and for the OUTGOING CONNECTIONS are on CHANNEL 5. Start the external GPS device, start your Bluetooth connection on your iPAQ and you're ready to go.
Does your USB adapter provide serial port connections ? I had the same issue with an USB adapter with a dedicated-to-phone software. I changed to MSI bluetooth adapter and then made a serial port available to COM5, then connect activesync to COM5. (make sure on the ipaq you create a shortcut "activesync connection" and pair with the bluetooth adapter.
The 1710 does not have bluetooth. You would have to buy a SD bluetooth card and then you could connect to the internet via a bluetooth phone if the phone had internet access.
