The automatic cut out switch on the motor needs replacing when the motor gets hot this switch comes in and stops the motor from overheating when the motor cools down the cleaner will work again and cut out again when the motor gets hot if it is not replaced it will eventually burn the motor out after the switch has been replaced both the filter and cyclone need to be cleaned on a regular basis or the same will happen again

Dyson animal ball

Hi Max, I had a similar problem with mine a couple of years ago. I had just cleaned all of my filters on my Dyson, One of them being the one in the ball. Was almost impossible to roll across the floor, I messed with it for a couple of days, no solution. Called Dyson, the technician I talked to thought it might be the entire head causing problems, they sent a new head it was under warranty so no cost to me. Problem still existed. I took the ball apart and looked closely at it and it seems I had screwed it back together wrong after the filter cleaning. Long story short, check to see if the ball is put together correctly. Hope this solves your problem

For the first two years our DC07 worked great, but then it would run for a few minutes and then just quit. After a few minutes it would start again and then quit. We washed the filters and checked the air...

It.s anew vacuum cleaner Dyson DC24-ball one, bought only a few months ago..but the brush rallied normally only for a few days. We washed the 2 filters but the brush never started to roll. What should do?

Hi there, its Darran at Dyson.

It sounds as though you need to re-set the brush bar. It can stop rotating if it becomes obstructed. You need to simply locate the red re-set switch on the side of the cleaner head and push this button right in as far as you can. When you switch the machine back on and lower it into the vacuuming position, it should start to rotate.

I hope that this information is useful to you, if you need any further assistance, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298, between the hours of 7am - 10pm, 7 days a week.

Kind regards
Darran

What is the life span of a dyson fusion turbo belt. We changed the belt 2 weeks ago, is this common occurence. It is used about 12 hours a week.

That is alot of use for this vacuum. Its only designed to last using a couple hours a week. Check the condition of the brushroll, see if its spinning freely. also check the motor shaft for any play. Im assuming you use it daily, probably a few hrs a day, the belt is getting a pretty good workout from the constant running and is probably heating up and stretching or snapping.

My dco7 quits running after 10 min I wait 15 min to start again

This is a sure sign of a blockage. The motor cuts out because it gets too hot and will start again when it has cooled. Follow the instructions in your user manual for clearing blockages (you can download a copy from the Dyson website if necessary). Make sure the washable filter is clean too (and completely dry before you use it).
