Panasonic PT-47wx49E I was watching the Panasonic PT-47wx49E and it just turned off. It will not come back on at all. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, nothing. Switched outlets, nothing. I am fearing the worst. Anybody hear of this before?

This means the set is in the TECH or adjustment menu.

If turning off does not get it off hold the menu and turn it off and back on.

It ispossible that your TV has a power supply failure and so I advice you check my link for tips:

if convergence does not adjust in menu mode could be a defective convergenceic or fuse

There should of been a protective screen for this model. Here are some links to obtain original replacement screens from a major Panasonic distributor if needed:

maybe the convergence resistors? sometimes when the ics blow a resistor or a few blow

The repair tech is wanting to take alot of your money, you can get the entire deflection baord which has the flyback on it remanufactured for about half of what he wanys to change the flyback. Heres alink leave them a email with your model number they will send you a quote to have your deflection D board rebuilt which carrys a full warranty. heres the link.

your convergence IVs need to be replaced. Its an easy repair if you can solder. you can get the two ICs you need at the following link. they also provide free installation instructions and free on line tech support while youre doing the repair. Thats a power supply module going bad. Dont use it until a person with knowledge on TV see that. Or if you feel you can DIY open the back panel to see if there is a toasted or foreign object near the power supply area. Its located when you follow the main plug going into the back panel of your TV. Look for a dying Fuse too. And watch out for Capacitor that has still current, you may electicuted with that component. That parts its only for qualified servicemen area only.
