My camera a Nikon Coolpix L18 was working fine. Have all pictures from my family reunion on it. "Card is not Formatted" comes up on the screen now every time I turn on the camera. One of my daughters says that all the pictures will be gone if I reformat the card. Please help...these are irreplaceable pictures!

Sounds like the memory card in the camera has gone bad, or the camera has glitched. Try replacing the card. If it still does it, the cam has issues.

Your camera supports SD HC, multimediacard and SD memory cards, is that card of a different type? you will get this problem if the card is of too large capacity too, your camera ,might have an upper limit for supported memory capacities.

dude ur memory card is corrupted need to buy new one sorry cant do anything for recovering data from a dead card

Use a card reader to download your pics.

Download the pictures to your computer using a card reader if necessary, then format the card in the camera.

Sounds as if the card is corrupted - you will have to use data recovery software.

I suggest you to remove the card from the camera and use a memory card reader to transfer the pictures to the computer. Note that the memory card should be formatted in the camera. Once the pictures are transferred you can reinsert the memory card to the camera and then format it in the camera.

It appears the SD card the retailer sold is not compatible with the camera. Put in a different memory card and camera works fine.

The memory card may be defective....... It often happens.......if u've the warrnaty try replacing the memory card......
