What causes my control locked light on my whirlpool duet dryer?

  1. Search for the end of cycle signal button then on your dryer This button is located right on the right side of the Duet model dryers.
  2. Push and then hold the button down for about 3 seconds.
  3. The Control Lock LED should shut off then letting you know that your dryer is not locked anymore. Or it could be the child lock feature was turned on and needs to be turned off.

How do I turn off child lock on Electrolux dryer

For some Electrolux models, icluding the EDC2086PDW, the child lock (control panel lock) is toggled on and off by pressing and holding the Time and Wool Load touch pads together. Hold the buttons until you hear the beep or the indicator light goes off. (The dryer needs to be on for this to work.) On the EDH3498RDL, the two buttons are the Time and Anti-Crease. On both of these models, the two buttons are the left-most pair of a set of four buttons to the right of the LCD screen.

The much newer EDH3498RDL uses a different Control Lock method. Press the Options button repeatedly until the LED next to Lock is let. Then press the adjacent Set button. The Lock option is in the column just to the left of the Start button.

Please add a comment with the model number of your dryer to get the procedure for your unit. I hope this helps.

My dryer ran through the dryer cycle turned off. Hours later I noticed the "control locked" light is on and the dryer will not even light up to set program.

Hello. I really need the make/model number to help you accurately. However, depending on the model dryer you have, look on the control panel for a button or buttons that have a "key" symbol or the word "lock" underneath. Normally, you would hold the button down for 3-5 seconds until the lock light goes out. This is the indication that the control panel is unlocked and normal operation can be initiated. The manufacturers put a panel-lock feature on the units to prevent "busy little hands" or others from changing settings, for unattended safety, etc. Dishwashers, ovens, ranges, and other appliances also have locks for the control panel. If your dryer initiated a control lock by itself, this would indicate a shorted button on the control panel--soft touch buttons and glass touch-control panels are notorious for doing this. If I have the model number, I can usually provide the part number and/or procedure for getting into diagnostic mode to see any stored error codes(if any) which would help pinpoint a problem. I hope I helped you!

Dryer is on LOCK CONTROL how do Iget it off?

The model number did not cross but here is what the manuals say for a Duet dryer:

CONTROL LOCKED

This feature allows you to lock your settings to

prevent unintended use of the dryer. You can

also use this feature to prevent unintended

cycle changes during dryer operation.

To enable the Control Locked feature:

Press and hold the End Of Cycle Signal button

for 3 seconds. The control is locked when a

single beep is heard and the Control Locked

status light is on.

• When the dryer is off, it is not necessary to

press the Control On button before activating

the Control Locked feature.

To unlock the Control Locked feature:

Press and hold the End Of Cycle Signal button

for 3 seconds to turn this feature off.

NOTE: When the dryer is running and Control

Locked is on, the dryer can be stopped by

pressing the Pause/Cancel button, but cannot
be restarted until the control is unlocked

Let me know if this does not work.
