well I installed a6.0L engine and all electronics from a 2002Caddilac Escalade into a 1964 Chevy panel wagon

Yes I know how to soldier"the joining of metals by a fusion of alloys which have relatively low melting points". In other words, you use a metal that has a low melting point to adhere the surfaces to be soldered together. Soldering is more like gluing with molten metal than anything else. Soldering is also a must have skill for all sorts of electrical and electronics work. It is also a skill that must be taught correctly and developedwith practice

How much do you know about electronics and can you solder? There is 1 sure way to find out if high voltage splitter is bad disconnected the Flyback transfomer from it /If set comes on and stays on splitter is bad.Make sure you place high votage lead from flyback where it cannot shock you.or short out anything near chassis. Also check little round blue capacitor behind Hori output they go bad 1200pf 2kvolts. This set i think has 2 STK392-??? big black ics if one of them is shorted set will not come on.Its up to you on fix or throw away

How do I fix my model tv No picture but knocking sound?

The knocking sound is the high voltage trying to fire. That would tell me that the high voltage splitter has failed or one of the 3 picture tubes (not lamps) has failed. Most likely too expensive to repair a TV that old.

My TV will not turn on. the green led light comes on and then swiches over to the red standby light and flashes 13 times. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I have a sony TV Mod no. kdl52w3000

Sonys are known for this. The tv may be going into shut down because a circuit such as the power supply cirucuit or high voltage may need repair. Call a service man, you probably only need a portion of the circuit repaired not the whole board!

Sony trinitron,standby lite flashes

Hello mybuddydakot,

This is an indication that the shutdown circuit is functioning which means there is a high current event happening in your set. I would venture to say that the problem may be in your high voltage section. I would suggest that you take the set to a qualified TV repair shop, due to the nature of this possible problem.

The High Voltage section is dangerous and should be worked on by a person who has knowledge of television electronic technology.

I hope this helps,

Tv flashing stand by / timer

Sony tv's have a myriad of problems that prohibit the High Voltage from activating. The flashing red light indicates the standby circuits are functioning correctly. You problem lies in the H>V section.A shorted horizontal output transistor or even poor connections on the horizontal drive transformer could cause this problem. To properly diagonose this problem,it must go to a service facility that is familiar with Sony servicing. Usually Sony repairs are not cheap. It is imperative that only Sony original parts are used. Stand-by flashing

You will need the G board replaced, part number A-1054-157-A. The board is no longer available but you can contact PTS at http://www.ptscorp.com and have them rebuild the board you have in the TV.

Stand By/Timer Flashing 4 Times

It means that there is a horizontal sweep or High voltage circuit falure. It is a high voltage circuit and only a trained tech should attempt to repair these sets. A TV set is not a place to be experimenting inside of.
