How to pair a Plantronics Explorer 245 Bluetooth headset and a Samsung Intensity...

To pair a Samsung Intensity cell phone with a Plantronics Explorer 245 headset, follow the 10 steps below:

1. Turn your cell phone on and your headset off.

2. On the Intensity, press the Menu button (the center round button) and from the main menu, go to Settings & Tools (in the bottom right corner).

3. Select item #3, Bluetooth Menu.

4. Select item #1, Add New Device.

5. If your Bluetooth radio is currently off, you'll be asked if you want to turn it on -- select Yes.

6. Turn on the Explorer headset. After a few seconds you should see either red and blue flashes or just blue flashes. If you see red and blue flashes, go on to step 7. If you see only blue flashes, hold the Call button down (the button on the side of the earpiece) for five or six seconds, until the LEDs begin to flash red and then blue.

7. On your cell phone, click OK on the screen telling you to place your device in discoverable mode.

8. The phone will search for Bluetooth devices in the area, and the Plantronics headset will appear at the top of the screen. It should be labeled "245Plantronics" or something similar. Once you see the headset appear on the screen, press the menu button to stop the search.

9. Press the menu button again to pair the two devices.

10. A message will appear once pairing has been completed, and you will be prompted to connect the phone to the headset. Select Yes.

The connection has now been established between the two devices, and you can use your Explorer 245 as a hands-free headset in conjunction with your cell phone. To see information about the headset (such as what services it offers, what its Bluetooth address is, or how long it has been paired to your phone) scroll down to its name on the phone's Bluetooth Menu and click the right option button to bring up the device's Options screen.

How to turn Bluetooth on and off on a Samsung Intensity

Like many other cell phones, the Samsung Intensity (SCH U450) is Bluetooth-capable. Turning Bluetooth on and off on the Intensity is easy to do, as is configuring the phone's various Bluetooth options and setting up new connections.

To turn Bluetooth on, press the Menu button (the round button in the upper center of the numeric keypad). On the main menu screen, select the Settings & Tools submenu in the lower right hand corner. Then scroll down to item #3 (Bluetooth Menu) and select it.

If Bluetooth is currently disabled, the option in the lower left corner of the screen will say "Turn On." Press the left option button to turn Bluetooth on; you'll see a box pop up that says "Bluetooth power on." Now you can pair your phone with other Bluetooth devices, either by initiating a connection (choose Add New Device from the Bluetooth menu, or if you've paired with the device before, select it from the list of devices) or by making your phone discoverable (click the right option button, select Discovery Mode, and turn it on).

To disable Bluetooth, go back into the Bluetooth menu and just hit the left option button ("Turn Off"). A box will appear that says "Bluetooth power off."

If you're not sure if Bluetooth is on or off at any given time, just look at the status bar at the top of your Intensity's main screen. If you see the Bluetooth icon -- a sharply-angled white "B" on the blue background -- then Bluetooth is currently enabled.

Samsung GT C5130 connect to my car (mazda) but can't talk

I would check the settings on the phone. Some phones have various settings and it seems like your phone settings is still set to pick up via Bluetooth headset - check the answer settings and you should be able to change it to in car settings. Which will allow the car Bluetooth to pick up the call.

Hi,
I realise it's been months since you had this problem so I hope you have been able to solve it but, just incase, I may be able to help you. I have just had the same issue - I had a prompt come up on the phone and I had to say 'yes' to connect to the car kit everytime I got in the car. I have a Samsung Preston touch screen phone, so this may not work for you, but I figured out that on the bluetooth screen on my phone (where you go to search for devices and you see your phone sitting in the middle of the screen with rings around it and the other devices pop up), that the parrot device will come up and, after you pair with the device you can press on the parrot device's icon and a menu will come up. One of the options is 'authorise device'. Once I selected this and changed it to 'yes', my phone and car kit automatically connected. It would help if the manual told you this! It is completely inadequate and doesn't provide good information or instructions.

Hi there. I actually had this problem before, you have to delete all the bluetooth connections from the phone then put the cars b/tooh into pairing mode, search for the blue tooth from the phone and pair it. What you need to do now is make sure that it is paired and go into options, you then have to authorise that connection. That should sort that out!

SGH-A701 Mobile bluetooth

first of all you have to have you bluetooth visibility on for it to connect to another device.

Page 90 on your manual.

Now if you are connecting to a car in which you are, leave the bluetooth enabled on your phone. You should be just able to connect to your phone when you turn the device on in the car.

(your probably driving a toyota)

If its not automatically detecting it, your toyota is the problem. when you get in the car all you really should have to do is go to connectivity on your phone, bluetooth, connect to the device.

And the toyota is probably a prius!

My phone connects automatically every time i turn the phone on.

when you set up the device, it will ask you the question.....connect automatically>? so you need to answer yes.

Let me know if there is anything more I can do.

Clint
