If your microwave oven is ONLY 1 month old and there is any question with its performance, it should still be under warranty from the manufacturer so I would bring it back to where you purchased it and have them provide a replacement of have them demonstrate that the one youi have is working to spec. Conversely, if you put large potatoes in the microwave, they havea lot of mass to them and will need to cook for quite a while.. Have you tried anything else in there of smaller proportions and those did not cook? You should be able to boil a cup of room temp water in a minute or two.. If that fails.. bring it back..

Hope that helps

I have a R-9H20 Convection oven works fine but blows fuse (10A) after few seconds when microwave selected

Sounds like MW has failed. given the age of unit repair is not economically feasible. I would buy a new unit and forget it.

Samsung microwave ME21K7010DS displays C-10 when I select potato. Stats working but after about 2 min message C-10 appears. Works fine in other settings. Microwave is about 14 months old

Older microwaves can develop any number of quirks.
Instead I suggest calculate the number of cooking time minutes needed and use that for your potato.
Be sure to fork a few holes into the skin of the potato so it doesn't "blow" and redecorate the inside of your micro.

I have an Electrolux High Speed Oven E30SO75FPS that's 3 years old and the Magnetron has failed for the 3rd time. What can be causing this?

Is the internal cooling fan working?

Are the ducts and vents clear?

Problems with any of those can result in overheating, which destroys magnetrons.

I have seen high voltage rectifier diodes interact with magnetron in funny ways. I'd replace the diode, too.

You can find links to helpful exploded view diagrams and part ordering help here.

I recommend that you bookmark that link to your favorites.

Finally, baking potatoes and making popcorn really give the magnetron a workout.

You should put about 1/2 cup of water in the rear corner of the microwave when cooking those foods.

It helps "preload" the oven to prevent execessive microwave energy reflection back to the magnetron.

Microwave oven no. NN-A514 cuts out when cooking

I had that issue and I opened the unit and there was a fuse near where the power went in. Went to the small local hardware store and they ordered it. It was well under $5 (can't remember) but it still works over 10 years later.
If the fuse blew again I would have trashed the unit.

Fuse blows on microwave switch on

one of three things shorted could cause this: H.V. diode, capacitor,or the magnetron tube, take screw driver and short terminals on capacitor before touching anything inside the case, then chk resistance on capacitor should show infinite after needle settles, diode should show hi resistance one way and a lower resistance in the other direction(use the RX100 scale not the RX1) on both parts diode should not show very low resistance or it could be leaking, mag is a different story,it can be chk'd but in a different way

Sharp microwave losing cooking power

If the supply voltage is low it will take long time to heat foods. The second reason is the Magnetron. Since it is in the warranty period you can call at the sharp authorised service center. They will do it free of coast.

Only some of my keypad will work

if your keypads dont work maybe the cushion or spring beneath is worn, so check your dealer with your warranty documents so you can get it exchanged

Did I blow it up????

After washing you need to poke holes in potatoe skins or the steam can cause them to explode. Cook potatoes no longer than 6 to 8 minutes depending on your units power.

Microwave ovens can be very dangerous if damaged, so you will be safer to replace the unit. Better safe than sorry. Service on microwave ovens is not cost effective, and the newer ovens are very reasonable.

I bought a ge microwave 5/20/08. I have used it several times and it has worked well. Today I was cooking baked potatoes. I usually do them 1 by 1 and then put them in the oven for a crip skin. After...

It should default to the high power level without your having to select that.

But if you think it may have a problem, you could unplug it for a few minutes then plug it back in and try again.

After that, if it's not acting as it should according to the owner's manual, it may need service.

If so, since it's under warranty, I would let GE fix it.GE Customer Service is online here.
