Not sure what model of fan or manufacture you have. Says Hunter 52" & Minka aire F603. If it's the Minka , Then push the button on the lower part of the remote (6 o'clock). If that doesn't work then you might need a new receiver.
Simply use regular bulbs. It sounds like it is switched electronically probably via a dimmer. If the CFL lamps are not specifically labeled dimmable they won't work. I have seen the LED lights work where the CFL lamps will not. If you want to use CFL then replace the dimmer.
Is it a standard incandescent bulb or is it a compact fluorescent light? If it has a remote with a dimmer you shouldn't use a compact fluorescent bulb as they are not dimmable. CFLs may be damaged or damage a dimmer if they are used together.
Unless you want to use pull chains, you will either have to get a different fan with a remote, or you can buy a remote to ADD to an existing fan/light. It hooks up under the base of the lamp. They seem to work better than the factory fans with the built in remotes.
I have an existing ceiling fan with an add on remote control. Does anyone have a wireing digram or can tell me how to wire it up. The switch on the wall kills all the power coming to the fan. I have the color wires wired together(pink to pink , etc.) It is a hunter add on divise. Model # CP911OR
