Question about JVC GR-DF430US Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

No picture JVC GR-DF430US

I just bought this camcorder and when I power it up, I don't have any picture in my LCD or viewfinder. When I record I have sound, but no picture. I get a warning flash when I power up of "Lens Cap" even though the cap is off. I can see the time stamp on the LCD and Viewfinder, just no picture. Please help

Could easily be one of those picofuse which is a miniature fuse. Looks more like a small metal film resistor, except without the coloured bands. But SMD in Camcorders has now got so damm small, you cannot use a hot air tool without the risk of other parts moving, or loosing.. basically a Digital Camcorder has all the electronics of a PC mother board, shrunk into a small hand device, and also included a tape loading mechanism and a lens unit.. So I would suggest that you will get in touch with the JVC service agent, and see if they can extend the warranty, sometimes they will cover the Parts , but you will have to cover the labour..

When in video recording mode LCD screen and viewfinder are black when the lens cap is off.

It could one of a few problems:

1. The viewfinder is pulled out and "PRIORITY" is set to "FINDER".

Push the viewfinder back in or set "PRIORITY" to "LCD".

2. The LCD monitor's brightness setting is too dark.

Adjust the brightness of the LCD monitor.

3. If the monitor is tilted upward 180 degrees, open the monitor fully.

I have a GR-D53EK but cannot see a picture

if it's changing when you move the LC it's propably that responsable is the flex wire connecting LCD with camcorder. I bought it in the repair shop and did it by miself. save a lot of money.
Good luck

Split screen and blurred vertical lines in view finder and LCD

Elakkis, I am sorry you are having a problem with your JVC camcorder. Your camera more than likely has a defective CCD imager which is being replaced by JVC factory service at no charge because of a problem with the Sony CCD chip being used. Call JVC and arrange to send the camera to them. Hope this helps you! Joe Weibel Custom Electronics (customelectronics.org)
