When successfully installed you will see the "other devices" disappear and a VNUSB device with a "VN series device"
underneath it appear at the bottom of the device manager list. There will be a blue question mark next to the device. At this point you can close the device manager and the properties window and open Digital Wave Player. You will see the recorder listed underneath the recorder folder and be able to download and use the program normally now.
I am not sure. when i downlad 2.1.4 the downlad window opens. From that windown, the program icon for photoshops elements appears on the leeft side of the windown, not the DVR program. I go ahead and save it anyway, and continue the process of attempting to downlad, as soon as the "finish" window opens, I clck fonish, then immediatelymy Photoshop Elements program opens and it gives me an error message. I wlll do it again to determine the exact eroror number. I have tried it twice, both using "run" and save". The same thing happens. I also checked the control panel in programs. The control programs lists shows the Olympus DRV as installed, but there is no file size, indicating to me that it was not installed.
Thanks
Would that be your 1st line of defense? Yes I could, but that doesn't explain why I was having the problem in the first place. Any input? Why would the program attempt to load any other software? I don't want reinstall all my software in case that didnt work.
I also don't know if it is blocking the install. I assume it is because it opens photoshop elements instead, and the Olympus software has a 0 file size when I go to Contol Panel / Programs. Just the icon appears.
That down't make sense to me because the Olympus doesn't even accomodate jpegs. Nor does photoshop elements accomodate sound files. I also responded somewhere else & I don't know what happened to this comment from me> Even if I uninstall photoshop, how do I know that The Olympus won't try to take over any other software that I have on my computer? Have you ever heard of this problem? Thanks
How is it that the Olympus even supports a jpeg or any file extentsion that is a photo? I though they were only audio files which Photoshop won't support, so it doesn't make sense. Are default jpeg programs the same as default audio programs? Is there any way I can see if this is the case through control panel? or anywhere else on my computer?
