Question about Zanussi ZHQ575 Electric Double Oven

1 Answer

The main oven gets warm but nowhere near hot enough to cook anything. Could it be the element? And if I replace it myself, what is the pen like object attached to a wire at the rear of the oven? Many thanks.

If it gets hot but not hot enough its proberly your thermostat and the pen like thing over the wire is just a cover to insolate the bear spade connection

I'm not sure if it's the thermostat that is not working but the oven only just warmed up and didn't get hot enough to cook food

Probably a thermostat going bad shutting elements off. But make sure the element doesn't have a burnt wire or the plug isn't burnt which will cause insufficient voltage

The grill element gets warm but not hot enough to cook. I think this means the element itself is ok but something else isn't. Any suggestions?

could be a faulty thermostat or a problem switch for the grill

Diplomat ADP 5520 Stainless Steel Range not getting hot enough

The circular element that the fan sits behind heats the oven. Ensure the thermocouple is back in the right place. Too near the element and the oven will stay cool.
Circular elements can be pricey and fitting should cost no more than an hours labour.

My old Jenn-Air W230 wall oven only gets to "warm" in the bake position - even at a temperature setting at 500 degrees. However the broil function works well. Could the problem be a bad thermostat o

the oven sensor could be bad,its a small rod inside the oven cavity near the top,or you could have a bake element with a "hot-spot" in it that can no longer pass enough current to properly heat the oven to the correct temperature setting(most elements with a hot spot will show a discolored area on the element where its been overly hot)this is the "hot-spot" it will soon break apart there

The oven does not cook the food, it only warms the food.

Two possible problems. If the oven has two or more elements for normal operation then one of these elements may be faulty. The thermostat may also be faulty and only heating to a far lesser temperature than required. The way to tell is turn the oven to a normal cooking temperature.
If the oven indicator light stays on all the time and doesn't cycle off then it may be an element problem, meaning that the oven can't reach the temperature setting desired.
If the oven indicator light goes off after a while and then cycles on and off then the thermostat is working correctly but the temperature may not be hot enough. You may have to purchase a small oven thermometer and check the oven temperature against the thermometer to get a better idea of what the problem is.

The heating element becomes red hot,but the food doesn't appear to cook in an appropriate time os fashion. Any answers or suggestions

The top of whatever food you're cooking should be in the center of the oven for the most effective cooking. Do you have the oven set on bake or broil? Broil is a direct heat method and if the food is on the lower shelf and the oven is set on broil, the food is not getting enough heat to cook it properly. Baking heats the lower element and the heat rises to surround the food. Broiling heats the top element and since heat rises, it is not getting down to the food to surround it and cook it.

I have an Ariston electric oven that seems to get too hot & burns

You can try going to a lower wattage element. EX: Our oven can take a 2500 - 5500 watage element. The lower the wattage, it won't heat up as fast/hot.Plus it saves on your power bill over time. Go to the Ariston website, or find your element number and check the web for a lower wattage.

1, If the fan motor in the back of the oven is going round and the temperature light is on (normally little red light), but there is no heat then you will probably need a new oven element, these are generally very easy to fit and readily available from our website these can be tested with a electric meter.
To gain access to the NEFF element you will have to remove the back plate from inside the oven. Once removed you will see the fan and element, if you look closely at the element you will probably see a small hole burnt in it where it has blown. Sometimes however there is no evidence of a fault but the element is open circuit ie: broken inside the element casing, either way it will need replacing. Some elements will are fixed from inside the oven and some are held in place by nuts from the rear of the machine.
2, If your NEFF fan oven is getting warm but takes a very long time to cook or is burning the food more on one side than the other, then you need to check if your oven fan motor is working you will see the blade turning fast if it is ok. if the element is heating but the fan motor is not blowing the heat into the oven then you need To replace the oven fan motor is a little more expensive and a bit more involved.
3. If you have the opposite problem ie: your oven is over heating and burning everything then you will need to replace your NEFF oven thermostat
4, A quite common and easily overlooked answer is if your NEFF oven is not working at all ie: no heat and no fan then the chances are that someone has put the oven timer into AUTO mode, simply put oven back to MANUAL mode and all should be working again.

Breaker flipped on my oven while cooking a turkey

If the oven was still slightly warm to the touch when you came home is probably fine. 45 minutes was not enough time to get the turkey hot down near the bone, so if it was cool I would discard it. But if you were lucky and it was still warm, go ahead.
