Normally it shouldn't! If the heating element is getting warm enough to dry your dishes then it should dry the water off all but the bottom of the dryer. Can you tell if your heating element is working - as in getting your dishes dry? If not, then you might want to do an ohm check of the heating element to make sure that it has opened.

Dishwasher not completely drying

The dishwasher does not dry the dishes, it is the residual heat remaining from the washing water that dries the dishes.
Once the washing cycle is over, opening the door and pulling the top drawer out slightly to keep the door ajar will create a small opening which allows the steam to escape and the dishes then dry a lot quicker.

What is the sequence to reset kenmore dishwasher 665.16719000? The buttons from left to right are pots/pans, normal wash, water miser, china gentle, quick rinse, high temp, air dry, delay wash, start

Press "high temp wash, heated dry, High temp wash, heated dry, high temp wash, heated dry, high temp wash, heated dry, high temp wash"

All the lights will go solid at which point you press cancel to reset the board.

**NOTE** if you don't have a "heated dry" button, use the "air dry" or "energy saver dry" button instead.

I have a 665.16039401 kenmore dishwasher and the clean light continues to blink. I can not run any cycles

Ah, the famous (or infamous) Clean-light blinking problem. Watch that blinking light.... You say it blinks 7 times, pauses, and repeats, right? Well, 7 blinks which means "water not heating error". This could be caused by a bad heating element, a bad thermal cutoff or thermostat, a bad controller, or a problem with the door latch and/or switches. Usually, the most common problem is that 1 of the 2 switches inside the door latch is not getting engaged fully. This may be caused by something getting spilled (like a soda) into the door latch that is making it stick, or the door strike may be weak and not pressing down on the door latch hard enough. If it's the latch, you would need to take the door apart and remove the latch mechanism (unplug the dishwasher first!), remove the switches, and clean the plastic parts with water, dry it, and then re-assemble. The other thing to check is the door strike, which is supposed to push down the latch. The springiness of this metal part may be weak. You can remove that door strike, bend it down more, and then re-install it. Then you need to reset the controller by running a diagnostic cycle. Do that by pressing the following sequence of keys: Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal; or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry; or Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry; or High Temp Wash, Heated Dry, High Temp Wash, Heated Dry). You will know that you have entered the diagnostic cycle when all the lights light up for a few seconds. Let the dishwasher run the diagnostic cycle for a few minutes, and then press Cancel to stop the dioagnostic cycle and clear the error. If the problem re-occurs, then the cause may be a bad heating element or a bad controller.
Note: On some of the newer Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid dishwashers, you start the diagnostic cycle by rapidly pressing the 3 left-most keys in the following sequence: 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3.
Good luck!

Kenmore Dishwasher model 665-13743k601 The clean light is flashing and will not reset. The dishwasher will not run.

Hi
If clean light is blinking 7 times then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump. If yes then please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset.
If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back for further assistance.

Kenmore dishwasher clean light is blinking and now wont wash dishes what can i do?

try this and make sure you water is hot enough to cycle your washer, as it has a temp. sensor for this.

The clean light sometimes flashes and just needs to be reset. To do so hit the keys in the following order. <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Cancel>.

Kenmore dishwasher clean light blinks

The computer needs to be reset. you may need to check the tech sheet that should have come with the dishwasher ( usually behind the toe panel) for directions on reseting it. If you cannot find the reset directions, let me know, I will have to look it up. thank you.

Blinking clean light, will drain with cancel button, wont wash

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes, pauses, and then repeats. When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash

-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Dishwasher seal issue

I use ge silicone clear sealant it is flexible adhesie that can handle water and heat

You can get this at Ace or big box stores you do not need a big tube

FIX:

1 Open dishwasher door

2 gently pull rubber seal away from dishwasher guide You do not have to remove the entire seal unless it is loose just keep pulling until you feel the seal staying on dishwasher

3 put a small amount of clear sealant on loose seal(side facing housing) and small amount on dishwasher guide ( dip your finger into water so that it does not stick to your finger)

4 press the seal into place on dishwasher housing

5 wipe excess with a damp cloth be sure you do not get any on seal side that faces dishwasher door

6 Allow to dry over night

Good Luck
