I heard that if you put the modem in bridge mode it will fix the problem but bridge mode brings up another problem in that i cant figure out how to do it
I keep get a NAT type 3 on my ps3. I've been told when plugging the modem straight into the ps3 it should be type 2. After looking on the net it seems that there is some type of problem because of the Speedstream 4200 Modem. Is there some type of setting I could change on this modem to make it better?

I have the same problem

put the modem in bridge mode and then connect a DSL/cable router to it...you'll have to configure the PPOE if its DSL... Cable is a little easier because there usually is a MAC authientication not username and password...plug dsl/cable router into cable modem...turn both off for about aminute then turn modem on first then router... Be careful most routers with wireless have it enable with no security by default...turn it off or set securty (wirelss that is)

Modems dont need drivers, only the NIC in the PC....ensure that the NIC is working properly in the "Device Manager". If not youll need a working NIC 1st. Then youll need to contact your ISP for propper configuration of the modem.

The ethernet light should not blink at all. The first thing to try is a new ethernet cable. If the problem still persists, then you need to check with your internet provider.
